J. Phillips, Survivor | of Smith County, Texas. Probate Docket. Hon. W.R. Castle, Judge:- Now comes A. J. Phillips and shows to the court that he resides in Smith County, Texas, and is the surviving husband of Hester Adaline Phillips, who is now dead; That said deceased, Hester Adaline Phillips, and this applicant, owned at the time of her death community property situated in Smith County, Tex- as as follows:- 106 acres of land in Smith County, Texas, of the reasonable value of $4000.00; Two mules and four hourses of the reasonable value of $50.00 each, making $300.; Five cattle of the reasonable value of $150.00; and Nine hogs of the reasonable value of $50.00; making a total estate of the reasonable value of $4500.00. That the deceased, died in Smith County, Texas, on the 13th day of December, 1918; and left surviving her the following minor children born of her marriage with this applicant, towit:- Lamascus Phillips, a girl 17 years old; Andrew Jackson Phillips, a boy 16 years old; Annie Mae Phillips, a girl 14 years old; Jeff Washington Phillips, a boy 12 years old; and Hester Adaline Phillips, a girl 7 years old; which are all of the children living and born to applicant and said deceased; and are all of the minor children of deceased. That said above mentioned property is all community property of deceased and this applicant; and there are community debts owing in the estimated sum of $2000. That your applicant is in no way disqualified to administer said estate under the provisions of the Community Act; and he prays that he be ap- pointed administer of said community estate under said Act, and that ap- praisers be appointed by the court to appraise said estate; and his bond fixed by the court as provided by law. Nov 1857 in Smith County, TX, son of John Phillips and Elizabeth F. Shackelford. Jack had been married before, and had several children with his first wife. Hester Adeline Rolston was born in Jul 1869 in Troup, Smith County. She had also been previously married - to Frank McMinn, on 1 Oct 1892 in Smith County.
