CURRY CEMETERY Tarrant County, Texas Contributed to USGenWeb Archives by: Margaret Bates (mrbates@swbell.net) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- To reach this site, go from Mansfield City Hall on East Broad to Creekwood Drive; turn right and then left on Calvary Cemetery Road; to Day-Miar Road. (4.2 miles from City Hall). The Curry Cemetery was approximately 400 yards east of the site of the old Gertie School on the T.D. Curry Survey. The Gertie School has been a landmark in the Mansfield-Webb-Britton area for years. It also served as a post office for the residents of the area. It is believed that Day-Miar Road is spelled incorrectly on the maps. It should be Day-Meyer. The grave markers have been removed and the ground plowed over. The only remaining landmark is an old well pump on the west side of the property which was the homesite of S.T.Marrs, father-in-law of "Dutch" Meyer. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, material may be freely used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material, AND permission is obtained from the contributor of the file.
