WALNUT CREEK CEMETERY Tarrant County, Texas Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by Margaret R. Bates (mrbates@swbell.net) This cemetery is located in a field on the south side of Highway 1187 across from where Teague Road intersects the highway. It is about six miles west of Mansfield. W. L. Raley sold the land in 1904 to Tarrant County for $100. The oldest legible grave marker is that of M. A. Hopper, wife of S. W. Hopper (1847 - 1881). Originally, there was also a church on the property. The property is no longer in use for a cemetery, as the last burial was that of Dora Hopper Long and the part set aside for a church was sold to a private individual. Almost all those buried at Walnut Creek, known locally as Hopper Cemetery, are related by blood or marriage. HOPPER Cayce S., 1 Sep 1891 - 2 Jun 1892, son of T.
