All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************** Mansfield News Mirror December 1994 Funeral services for Blanche Thelma Carlton Beckum, 93, of Midlothian, were held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 13, at First Methodist Church, Midlothian, Dr. Louis Shambeck and Reverend Gary Mauldin officiated. Burial was in St. Paul Cemetery, Midlothian. Mrs. Beckum died Saturday, Dec. 10, 1994, in Mansfield, Texas. She was born Sept. 22, 1901 in Williamson County, Texas. Mrs. Beckum was a member of the Frances Hackler Circle at First United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Midlothian American Legion Auxiliary, and the Midlothian Senior Citizens Group. She was a retired librarian for the Midlothian public schools. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Arthur Beckum, Sr. on April 14, 1931; son, James Arthur Beckum, Jr. on July 11 1973; and parents, Walter Ray Carlton and Jimmie Etta Stewart Carlton. Survivors include her sons, William Walter Beckum and wife, Betty of Colleyville; and Carleton Robert Beckum and wife Norma Grace of Mansfield; two brothers, Walter Olin Carlton of Cleburne and Worth Maurice Carlton of Mansfield; three sisters, Lettie Irene Wilson, Eloise Mae Elliott and Louise Faye Harris, all of Mansfield; sister-in-law, Leola Doherty of Richland Hills; her caregivers, Louise Henry and Pauline Jones; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
