All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************** Mansfield News Mirror July 27, 1967 Services were held at 3:30 p.m., Monday for Kenneth Camp, 38, of Rendon, who was killed about 7:15, Saturday, July 22, at Luck Field on US 81 when the plane in which he was alone crashed and burned. Kenneth had been a lifetime resident of Rendon and was a 1946 graduate of Mansfield High. On April 16, 1949, he was married to Pauline Ray, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Ray. He was a deacon in the Retta Baptist Church. In late 1940's he worked in ground crews for airline companies, hoping to become a pilot. After obtaining his commercial license, he became a private instructor and later flew for Continental Airlines for 10 years. He was an instructor for Eagle Flying Services and owned several planes and a hangar near Rendon. He was said to have been an expert pilot and had taught many boys in the Rendon area to fly. Dr. Cal Guy assisted by Rev. James Ward and Rev. Henry Brannon officiated at the services which were held at the Retta Baptist Church. Interment was in the Rendon Cemetery. Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Ann Camp; two sons, Eddie Camp and John Camp; four sisters, Mrs. Charlene Maxwell of Burleson; Mrs. Carl Miller of Atlanta, Georgia; Mrs. Roy Wilson of Rehoboth community; and Mrs. Herman Martin of Santo; four brothers, Joe Camp of Fort Worth; Donald Camp of Fort Worth; A. D. Camp of Odessa; and James Camp of Maljimar, New Mexico. Pallbearers were deacons in Retta Baptist Church, Buddy Maxwell, N. H. Pool, Bryan Roberts, D. F. Anderson, Buddy Webb, Grant Rhoden, Hubert Martin, and Al Lunday.
