All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************** Mansfield News Mirror December 30, 1999 Memorial service for Jean Carolyn Campbell, 67, of Mansfield, were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 28, at St. Gregory Episcopal Church, Mansfield. Burial was under the auspices of the Texas skies at Somerset Farm in Morgan Mill. Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or Mansfield Public Library. Mrs. Campbell, artist, poet, mother and friend died Friday, Dec. 24, 1999, at home. She was born May 27, 1932, in Big Spring, Howard, Texas, the daughter of Wayne and Hazel Maurine Adams Pearce. Mrs. Campbell attended North Texas State University in Denton, and lived in Mansfield for 30 years. She was a charter member of the Walnut Creek Country Club where she was the first 18-hold Club Champion and creator of the Soggy Shoe Tournament. She was a charter member of St. Gregory Episcopal Church, the Mansfield Womans Club, and lifetime member of The Science Club, where a red kite flies in her honor. She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Pearce, and nephew, Lee Pearce. Survivors include her beloved husband of 47 years, Charles William (Bill) Campbell; son, Douglas W. Campbell of Franklin; daughters, Jill Campbell of Mansfield; Cristy Lynn Campbell-Furtick of Morgan Mill; Kelli J. Campbell-Manry of Venus; and Stacy Campbell of Fort Worth; mother, Hazel (Hassie) Pearce; brother, Phillip Wayne Pearce; sisters-in-law, Susan Doty Pearce, Joan Hardin, Margaret Newland and husband, Jim; grandchildren, Dylan, Mackenzie, Jody, Cooper, London, Larkin, Hap, Bo and Krista; extended family, children-in-law, Olivia, Roger, Steve and Teri; and nieces and nephews, Billy, Jeff, John, and David Newland, Kirk, Dawn and Mark Hardin.
