All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************** Mansfield News Mirror September 21, 1989 Funeral services for Bennett Aven Carpenter, 76, of Hurst, were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 14, in the Blessing Chapel. Interment was in Mansfield Cemetery. The Reverend Sam Rowlett of the Central Baptist Church, Mansfield officiated. Pallbearers were Thomas Lutes, Sr., Jack Key, Charles Sorrels, Chester Hudson, Barney Davis, and Jack Sprouse. Mr. Carpenter died at 1:05 p.m., Monday, Sept. 11, 1989, in Harris Hospital, Bedford. He was born April 9, 1913 in Bluffton, Yell County, Arkansas, the son of Willis Aven and Ola Viola Watson Carpenter. He was retired from Ford Motor Company Assembly Plant of Dallas. He was a veteran of World War II and a Baptist. Survivors include: son, Robert Bennett Carpenter of Hurst; daughter, Debra Louise Sharp of Antelope; two sisters, Mrs. E. R. (Lois) Baxter of Little Rock, Ark. and Mrs. Rosmyr L. (Tryline) Choate of Dardanelle, Ark.; and five grandchildren.
