All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************** Fort Worth Star-Telegram May 2006 Mansfield – Sharon Eleanor Carpenter, 64, went into the arms of Jesus Friday, May 5, 2006, at her home in Mansfield with family and friends by her side. Worship service: 7 p.m., Tuesday at her home church, Fielder Road Baptist Church in Arlington, with family visitation immediately following the services. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Sharon was born in Superior, Douglas County, Wisconsin on March 17, 1942, the daughter of Gus and Eleanor Anderson, who preceded her in death. She moved to Arlington in 1970 where she raised her two daughters. Sharon loved being a rural route carrier and worked at the Melear and Bardin Road post offices in Arlington, where she retired after 20 years of faithful service. She married the love of her life, Dustin Edward Carpenter, Jr. on May 13, 1992, and gained two sons to complete her family. Dustin and Sharon enjoyed the last 14 years living life to the fullest. Sharon loved people and delighted in spending time with family and friends. She spent the last six years ministering to others as she battled breast cancer. When people often asked her about her joy and strength, she would quickly tell them that it came from her personal relationship with Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. She will be remembered most for her love and smile. Survivors: Her loving husband, Dustin Edward Carpenter, Jr.; daughter, Wendy and husband, Gary and grandson, Jesse Smith; daughter, Tonia Danette Nevala; son, Geoffrey Shay Carpenter; son, Dustin Edward Carpenter III and wife, April and grandson, Beau Carpenter; mother-in-law, Marian Carpenter; sister-in-law, Shailene Graham; cousin, Bob and wife, Gail Erdman; brother, Donald Anderson; sister, Gail Turra; brother, Richard Somerville; and countless other family and friends.
