All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************** Mansfield News Mirror May 26, 1997 Funeral services for Elmer Charles Carroll, Jr., 63, of Venus, were held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 23, 1997, in the Blessing Colonial Chapel, Mansfield, with interment following in Duke Cemetery, southeast of Alvarado. Reverend Monty Hinson officiated. Pallbearers were Jerry Howard, Jim Yoachum, Joe Weatherford, Charles Peppers, Howard Hard, and Glenn R. McComb. Mr. Carroll died at 4 a.m., Wednesday, May 21, 1997, in the Vencor Hospital in Mansfield. He was born Dec. 28, 1933, in Lone Wolf, Okla., the son of Elmer Charles and Lela Alice Hodgson Carroll, Sr. He married Lanelle Johnson, Dec. 22, 1978, in San Antonio. Mr. Carroll was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Countryside Baptist Church. He was a radio and speed odometer repairman. Survivors include his wife, Lanelle Carroll of Venus; three sons, Christopher Cook of Mexico; Wayne Cook of Benton, Ark.,; and Mark Carroll of Cleburne; one daughter, Vicky Piper of Crowley; two stepsons, Thomas Norseworthy of Haltom City; and Michael Norseworthy of Fort Worth; mother, Alice Celsor of Sentinel, Okla.; one sister, Patsy Howard of Clovis, N.M.; and 12 grandchildren.
