All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************** Mansfield News Mirror May 2, 1974 Funeral services for Roy Wilson Chambers, 72, of Kennedale, who passed away in a Fort Worth hospital Tuesday, April 23, 1974, were held Thursday, April 25, in the Kennedale Church of Christ, with interment following in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Fort Worth. Allen Hall, minister of the Kennedale Church of Christ and Rev. Sam Rowlett, minister of the Central Baptist Church, Mansfield, officiated. Blessing-McInnis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers: Clyde Duke, Kelly Russell, R. H. Ervin, B. J. Wheeler, F. G. Watson, and James M. Barnett. Chambers was born March 2, 1902, at Cedar Hill, Dallas County, Texas, the son of Andy and Mollie Chambers. He married Bertha Athlea Lively, Dec. 10, 1921, in Mansfield. He was a member of the Church of Christ, and retired from the City of Fort Worth. Survivors include his wife, Bertha Chambers of Kennedale; three daughters, Mrs. Ren Raymond (Audie Beatrice) Geeo of Fort Worth; Mrs. James H. (Estelle) Hussong of Fort Worth; and Mrs. Ivis Eugene (Patsy Jean) Thornhill of Mansfield; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Irene Ford of Arlington.
