Interment followed in Mansfield Cemetery. Rev. Sam Rowlett of Central Baptist officiated. Blessing Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Chasteen died Monday, Feb. 8, 1988, in a Fort Worth hospital. He was born May 21, 1911, in Mansfield, the son of John and Buelah Victoria Farmer Chasteen. He was a member of the Westridge Baptist Church in Fort Worth and a retired electronic repairman for the Department of Defense. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Lois Jones Chasteen, Nov. 6, 1981, and son, Billy Ray Chasteen, Sr., June 21, 1984. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Richard Anthony (Joyce Faye Ferrell) Arceri of Garland; four brothers, Bennie Lee and Archie Melvin Chasteen, both of Mansfield; and Edward Earl and Bobby Gene Chasteen, both of Hico; sister, Bertha Oleta (J. D.) Oliver of Hico; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Pallbearers: E. F. Uselton, Harry Starks, F. M. Beasley, Jack Edward Ferrell, Jr., Melvin Boyett, and Ben Todd.
