Funeral: A private family service in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorials: Her memory may be honored with contributions to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, or your favorite charity A native of Mansfield, Josephine was born Oct 21, 1916, the daughter of Ben B. and Gula Ann House Graves. She was married to Dan Forrest and Harry Newby, both of whom predeceased her. Josephine was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Fort Worth until shortly before the church closed its doors. After completing her college work at North Texas Agricultural College in Arlington and business degree at Brantley-Drawn Business School, Josephine began her business career in Fort Worth working as a legal secretary. She later moved to Detroit and subsequently worked in the real estate-legal division of the home office of K-Mart for 17 years. In 1972 she returned to Fort Worth and lived here for the past 35 years. For may years she was an officer of and very active in the South Fort Worth Business and Professional Womens Club. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a baby sister, Dixie Graves; brother, John House Graves; nephew, John Graves Spencer; and cousins, Lela Ramsey, Otis House and Hannah Ann House Knapp. Survivors: Cousins, Lela Jane Knapp Maben, Suzanne Knapp and her husband, Paul Olson of a Jolla, Calif.; and all of Fort Worth and Mansfield.
