Burial followed at Saginaw Cemetery. Sloas died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002, in Fort Worth. Born Aug. 20, 1944, in Winfield, Ala., he was an owner of Busby’s Nursery and loved woodworking and having barbecues with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Mary Busby Sloas of Fort Worth; two sons, Danny Keith Sloas and his wife Christine and James Jerome Sloas and his wife Irais of Newark; three daughters, Yvonne Kegley and her husband Dan, and Tammy Lynn Connally, both of Richland Hills and Denise Sloas of Newark; two stepchildren, Cindy Jacobs of Boyd and Shelley King of Azle; his mother, Hazel Sloas of Newark; a brother, Bill Sloas of Newark; two sisters, Deborah Morton of Newark and Linda Renee Sloas of Decatur and six grandchildren.
