Funeral: 2 p.m., Monday, July 3, in Blessing Colonial Chapel, Reverend Randy Weeaks officiating. Burial: Mansfield Cemetery, under the direction of Blessing Funeral Home, Mansfield. Pallbearers: Billy Casstevens, K. L. Martin, David Casstevens, Raymond Meeks, Charles Gorman, and Bill Sells. Honorary pallbearers: Burton Casstevens, John Hart and Mike Wynn Memorials: Charity of choice or to Roberta Tipps Elementary School Memorial Fund. Roberta was born in Mansfield, Texas, Oct. 1, 1911, to Roy Eugene and Ruby Beatrice Casstevens Tipps. She was a third-generation resident of Mansfield. Her red brick home on Main Street was a favorite stopping place for friends and relatives for many years. Roberta was a dedicated teacher for 39 years, teaching in Mansfield, Wichita Falls, and Arlington. In 2003, the Mansfield school district bestowed the honor of naming a school for her. She and her best friend, LaVerne Duncan, lived together after retirement and enjoyed their golden years traveling and playing bridge. She was a generously kind person with a beautiful, optimistic spirit. She was preceded in death by her father, Roy, Dec. 3, 1972, and mother, Ruby, Nov. 27, 1980. The family wishes to express its appreciation to Vitas Hospice Care, Angelic Place and her personal caregivers for helping her live her final days on this earth with dignity and grace. Survivors: A host of cousins, friends and former students.
