Funeral services were held for Roy Eugene Tipps, 83,
of 306 South Main Street on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at the
First United Methodist Church with Reverend Ed Sluder
officiating.  Interment was in the Mansfield Cemetery,
under the direction of Blessing Funeral Home,
Mansfield.

Mr. Tipps, a native of Mansfield, passed away Sunday,
Dec. 3, 1972, in the local nursing home.  He was born
Jan. 21, 1889 in Mansfield, the son of Samuel David
and Ora May Nash Tipps.  He married Ruby Beatrice
Casstevens, Dec. 25, 1910, in Mansfield.  He was a
member of the First United Methodist Church of
Mansfield and was a retired farmer and grocery clerk.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Tipps of Mansfield;
one daughter Lora Roberta Tipps of Mansfield; one
sister, Mrs. Alvy Burton (Effie) Casstevens.

Pallbearers were Burton Casstevens, Billy Casstevens,
John Hart, Floyd Hart, David Casstevens and Fred
Lawing.
