They were headed by a widow, Permelia Allen (d. 1866), who is buried here in an unmarked grave. This tract, adjacent to the Mount Gilead Baptist Church and School, was first owned by her sons-in-law Daniel Barcroft (1812-81) and Iraneous Neace (1816-79). the earliest marked gravesite is that of William Joyce (1836-54). Homemade grave markers here reflect the pioneer lifestyle of the early settlers. photos of these stones are located at http://www.usgwarchives.net/tx/cemph/tarrant/mtgilead.html Cemetery Map Historical Marker Cemetery View Cemetery View Cemetery View Pioneer Stone Burial Cairns Pioneer Stone Burial Cairns Age 12 Unknown, Butch Unknown, Infant Unknown, Our Baby Aurthur Unknown, Our Little Alva Unmarked Headstones in Walled Area Allen, D Barcroft, Ceolah Barcroft, Gabriel L Barcroft, Winona Bates, A & E Bates, Ida Bean, Jamina Blevins, M J & T M Byas, Melvina Carr, Bud & Nan Cavins, Annie Cavins, F C Cavins, Mary Cavins, O L Chaney, Elizabeth A Chaney, Wm H Chapman, A J Cook, Harmon Crawford, Ada Crawford, Infant Creed, John & Sarah Davis Family Stone Davis, David Davis, Lucinda Eller Davis, Nannie Davis, Nannie & Son Davis, Sue Davis, Willie & Susanna Davis, Z D Dodson, William Douglass, Chester Douglass, Martha Douglass, Nancy Drake, Claudia Walker Drake, Vida Verda Edwards, A J Elston Family Headstone Elston, C B Elston, D E Elston, Hannah Elston, John D & Lucy J Elston, Mary E & Infant Son Evans, Herman Lee Evans, Rebecca B Gates, Armindia Givins, Clarisa Grimes, Annie Grimes, H George Grimes, John Grimes, Juilet Grimes, Rev R K Grimes, Thomas Harrell, Irena Haire Family Harrell, W E, Bell & Willie Harris, Deola & Helen Carmichael Hart, May Hill, Adaline Hill, Clement L Hill, Cynthia Edwards Hill, E A Hill, John H Hill, John R Hill, Mahulda Ann Hill, Perlie James, Joyce James, Mary J A Joyce, Lucy Joyce, Miranda Joyce, Norvil L Kilpatrick, Garrett King, Willie Ladd, Elzira Lipscomb, Charlie Lipscomb, Eddie McCain, M E McCain, Mrs M A McCain, Tho's McCall, Rosa Lee McCarty, Mollie Miller, Infant Child of OE Miller, Mrs O E Mills, Lemma Neace, C C Neace, Ethan & Minnie Neace, Guy L Neace, I R Neace, James E Neace, Lucinda L Neace, Lucinda L Neace, Sarah Neace, Son of TA & SJ Neace, Thomas I Neace, Thomas M Neece, David I, son of JB & SEL Neece, Joel Phillips, Mary Powell, Clinton N Price, W A Price, William Price, Wm Elbert Pulliam, Rudolphus & Sue Quedenfeld, Hermann Randolph, J L Rench, Bernard Theodore & Ruth Barnette Riley, Thomas & Nannie Rogers, N M & H H Sharpless, Richard W, Sarah M & Clyde W Short, Elder Josias Short, Julia A E Smith, Fannie E Smith, W J Smith, Willie Sparkman, Evie B Stanfield, Jenette Steen, Henrietta Taylor, John F Thompson, Joe Thompson, Martha (Evans) Thompson, Mary Thompson, S H Thompson, Thomas Wade, R M Wallace, Henry & Rebecca Warren, L A Warren, N G Warren, W A White, Homer White, Isabella White, John White, L C & Nancy Williams, Texana Wise, David Wise, Nancy Wright, Infant Son Wright, Lucinda Wright, Robert
