A.C. MANLY, MEMBER OF PIONEER FAMILY DIES Mrs. A.C. Manly, member of a well-known pioneer family of Shackelford county and Abilene, died at Hendrick Memorial Hospital Saturday following an illness of three years which became critical two weeks ago. Funeral conducted at Highland Street Church of Christ, of which she was a member and of which her husban dwas a deacon. Conducting the rites will be Dr. Paul C. Witt of Abilene Christian College, an officer of the Highland Street church and Cecil N. Wright, its minister. Burial in the local cemetery under the direction of Laughter Funeral Home. Mrs. Manly was born in Austin County, Texas and came to Shackelford county in 1885 with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Harvey. She was married in 1896 to Thomas H. King and to them were born two children, Fannie Louise, who died in infancy, and Dorothy Faye, who is Mrs. J.B. Neely, wife of an Army lieutenant stationed at Stinson field, San Antonio. Mr. King died 16 May 1922. She was married to Mr. Manly in 1925. Their home is 2125 Russell Ave. Besides her daughter and husband, she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Earl C. Hays of Clyde and six brothers: Dabney, B.C., H.C. M.B., L.H. and J.D. Harvey, all residing in and near hear except J.D. Harvey, who is minister of the Big Spring Church of Christ. Mrs. Manly had been a member of the Church of Christ since 1896. Pallbearers: W.C. Smith, W.C. Fouts, H.P. McGrady, L.E. Weathers, F.F. Moore, M.E. Gilliland.
