Fry at 2:00 a.m. while on duty at the depot. Night watchmen Gunn and Bagby and the crew of freight train number 15 were in the office at the time, the latter waiting for orders. Mr. Fry had consumption and was not really able to work, but persisted in doing it over the protest of his family. He was quite weak, but last night was apparently as well as usual. In fact, more cheerful and playful than common, indulging in jokes and engaging in a round of boxing with a friend who happened in the office. The immediate cause of his death was a hemorrhage from the lungs which followed coughing. He woke only twice, calling for salt and for fresh air. When the hemorrhage came he was lying on a bench and jumping up would have fallen across the room had not Mr. Bagby caught him. Death was almost instantaneous, coming before Mr. Bagby could lay him down. Manager Saunderson was summoned and at once notified Mr. FryÕs brother, who is train dispatcher of the Sunset at San Antonio and his brother, at Ardmore. His mother had not yet been heard from.
