Clarke Parker of Abilene. Here is her obituary: This is a 1928 obituary on Hallie Parker Adams: MRS. ADAMS TO BE BURIED AT DALLAS TODAY Sister of Abilene Women Succumbs To Heart Trouble; Was Early Resident Here Mrs. David Adams, who was the oldest living child of the late Capt. and Mrs. R. H. Parker, who were pioneer Abilene citizens, died in Dallas Saturday morning. Her sisters, Mmes. Sam R. Cox, T. M. Willis and George W. McDaniel and a nephew, George W. She was one of a family of 12 children. She had been in ill health for several years. The immediate cause of her death was heart trouble. Born in Missouri, she came to McKinney, Texas, with her parents in early girlhood and was married there. With Mr. Adams, who survives her, and other members of the family, she came to Abilene when the town was just being started as a small trading point on the Texas & Pacific railway, which had but recently been completed. With his father-in-law, Capt. Parker, Mr. Adams engaged in the lumber business here at South Second and Elm street, where the Coca Cola plant now is located. The Parker family home still stands at South Second and Butternut streets and is owned by the Parker estate. After residing here four years, Mr. and Mrs. Adams moved to Dallas, where they lived for a number of years. They then went to Florida, having returned to live in Dallas two years ago. Mrs. Adams was a life-long Presbyterian and an unusually active church worker. She is survived by her husband; two sons, Bob Adams[Robert Parker Adams] of Dallas and David, Jr., of Miami, Fla.; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Getis[Gattis] of Minneapolis, Minn.; six grand-children; one brother, John T. Parker of Hurley, N. M., and six sisters: Mrs. Sam R. Cox of Abilene, Mrs. T. M. Willis of Abilene; Mrs. George W. McDaniel of Abilene; Mrs. D. P. Woodward of Dallas; Mrs. Betty P. Kelly of Denver, Colo., and Mrs. J. W. Jack of Beaumont. Mrs. Jack, who spent three months in Europe this year, returned to Dallas last Monday and was to attend the funeral.
