While lighting a fire with coal oil her clothes caught fire and she was burned in a horrible manner. The house and all its contents was also consumed. Alvis started a fire with kerosene on the 20th, an explosion occurred, her clothing became ignited and she was burned to death. The house and the entire contents were destroyed.
