The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. *********************************************************************** Cosme Carasco A Foul Murder This morning about 2 oÕclock Dick Gilstrap walked into Cosme CarascoÕs (better known as Tamale Gus) chile stand and found its owner near the front door most horribly butchered, having one gash on the back of the neck and two stabs in the region of the heart Ð one above and another below Ðwith eight other severe wounds in different parts of the body. Mr. Gilstrap immediately informed the officials, and his body was removed to Flint & Co.Õs underaking establishment, where it was viewed this morning by all who so desired. A visit to the chile stand shows that a struggle had taken place, as both panes of glass in the front door were smashed and the floor and walls were covered with blood. The crime was not committed for robbery as he had several dollars and a watch in his pocket.
