Willis, 89, was set for 4 p.m. Tuesday in Laughter-North Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Leland Murphy, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, was to officiate. Burial was slated in Masonic Cemetery. Mrs. Willis died at 4 p.m. Monday in Hendrick Memorial Hospital. She suffered a stroke Oct. 11 and was taken to the hospital the next day. She was the widow of the late T. M. Willis, former city judge and lawyer of Abilene. Born at McKinney March 25, 1865, she was a daughter of Maj. and Mrs. R. H. Parker, who moved to Abilene in 1883. She was Sallie Ann Parker before her marriage to Mr. Willis in June, 1886. Mrs. Willis was a charter member of the John Davis Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of the Needle and Craft Sewing Circle. Survivors include two daughters, Sallie Willis, teacher in the R. Vickery School in Fort Worth, and Mrs. Ike Hudson, 1210 South 14th St; four sons, John T. Willis, assistant cashier at the First National Bank in Waco; R. Parker Willis, city alderman and realtor in Wichita Falls; Charles Grant Willis, 110 Merchant St.; and Tom H. Willis, 2534 South 11th St.; one sister, Mrs. George W. McDaniel, 774 Butternut St.; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. -The Abilene Reporter-News, October 19, 1954
