Elbert was a farmer then after moving into town he worked for many years at 
Seaton and Littlefield Machine shop. he and his brother Doyle opened Floyd 
Brothers Welding, they also started growing wine grapes along with two 
friends. He was also a Veteran of the Korean War, where he served as a member 
of the Signal Corps.
