All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************** The Abilene Reporter News Tuesday, March 20, 2007 Dr. Frank Harrell Sims VERNON -- Dr. Frank Harrell Sims, age 78, of Vernon, Texas, died Friday, March 16, 2007, in Vernon, Texas. Services will be Tuesday, March 20,2007 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Darrell Monday, Rev. Ben Macklin. Interment will be at Wilbarger Memorial Park. Under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home. Frank was born August 27, 1928 in Throckmorton, Tx. He was the son of the late John Franklin Sims and Lydia Essie Everett Sims. He married Nathalie Houy in 1977 in Vernon, Tx. Frank was a graduate of Paint Creek High School, Haskell, Tx. He graduated June 1, 1951 from A and M University. He came to Vernon in 1956 from Amarillo. He brought the Veterinary Clinic from Dr. G. B. Adams on June 2, 1056. He was a member of the J. Carl Sunday School Class, and he was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was the Youth Sunday School Teacher. He was a member of the Vernon Lions Club, Active in 4-H and FFA, Vernon School Board Member, and Past President, and the Executive Director for 4-H for over 40 years, and he was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 655. Past Worshipful Master, Scottish Rite, Shriners. Survived by his wife Nathalie Sims of the home, on son Rick Sims of Burkburnette, TX., one daughter Becky Hamilton of Altus, OK., Two stepsons Marty Lee Drake Of College Station, TX., Lance Drake of Stephenville, TX., one brother Dub Sims of Burleson, TX., eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Ray Sims, one grandson Jonathan Hamilton. Visitation will be Monday March 19, 2007 from 6:00 to 7:00 at Sullivan Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to First Baptist Church of Vernon, Texas or Hospice of Wichita Falls or Favorite Charity.
