It is located in East Central Titus county about 100 yards from the access road of Interstate Highway 30. The last monument was in memory of Susan Ann Scarbrough, born August 3, 1846, died: May 3, 1888 and was probably the last person buried there. The cemetery was named after an early pioneer of Titus County who had the original headright just to the NE of the cemetery. Ed Scarbrough, son of Susan Ann Scarbrough, said that there were numerous graves of Claunch, White, Smith, Scarbrough and others. Nothing remains to mark any of the grave sites. To reach Claunch Cemetery from the Titus County court house, take 1st Street west for 0.5 mile to the intersection of Ferguson Road (US 271). Turn right onto Ferguson for 0.3 mile to the intersection of FM 899. Turn left onto FM 899 and proceed 3.0 miles to the intersection of the road that goes under Interstate Highway 30 to the north access road. Turn right onto that access road, crossing under the interstate and proceeding 3.0 miles. The cemetery will be on the right side of the access road and about 75 yards to the north.
