Blevins, one of Titus County's most prominent farmers occured at the family home about eight miles southeast of Mt. Pleasant Friday night at 11:30 o'clock, following an illness of nearly three weeks. Mr. Blevins was stricken shortly after the death of his wife, which occured on August 27th, and he continually grew weaker until his death relieved his sufferings. Deceased was 76 years of age, and had spent most of his life in Titus County, being recognized as one of our best citizens. He is survived by three sons and three daughters as follows: Arthur, Roy and John Blevins of Dallas, Mrs. W. P. Martin of Lubbock, Mrs. W. R. Whitaker of this city, and Mrs. Quince Davis of Miami, Fla., all of whom were at his bedside when he passed away. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 0'clock at East New Hope, with Rev. J. D. McClung of this city and Rev. O. E. Short of winfield officiating. Interment took place at the nearby cemetery.
