All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************** Death Takes Miss Mary E Harwell Wednesday Night June 8, 1932 Miss Mary Elizabeth Harwell passed away Tuesday night at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Harwell, of North Van Buren Avenue, following a short illness. Although she has not been in good health for several months, she had not appeared to be seriously ill until Sunday, when she collapsed and rapidly grew worse until her death at 2:20 o'clock Wednesday morning. The passing of Miss Mary was a shock to the entire city, as she was held in the highest esteem by everyone, and counted as her friends all who knew her. Mrs. Harwell was 32 years of age at the time of her death, and had spent most of her life in Mt. Pleasant. She is survived by her parents and two brothers, Willie D. Harwell, of this city, and George Harwell of Abilene. Funeral services were held at the residence Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock under the direction of Rev. R. L. Owen, pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Longview, and formerly pastore of the church here of which Miss Harwell was a faithful member. Burial took place at the Masonic Cemetery.
