ODENA DALE LUHRS
Odena D. Luhrs, age 78, of Swan Creek Retirement Village, passed away on
Friday, May 9, 2003.

She was born in Cookville, Texas on October 28, 1924, to Jadie and Ersel Dale.
Odena graduated from Omaha High School, and attended Davis Business College.
She was the treasurer for the Sapphire Ball for twenty years, a member of the
Toledo Orchestra Women's League, long-time member of the Toledo Museum of Art,
St. Matthews Episcopal Church and the Tucker Guild of St. Matthews.  She also
assisted with the record keeping for the Toledo Ecumenical Communications
Council.

Her first husband, Edward Witty preceded her in death and she married Millen
E. Luhrs on September 17, 1949, who survives her.

She is also survived by her daughters, Rosemary Cohen of Great Neck, NY and
her husband, Mitchell, their children, Rebecca, Arielle and Joshua; Martha
Luhrs Viegas of Recife, Brazil and her husband, Fernando, their children,
Carlos and Robert; Ann Elizabeth Boyd of Findlay, Ohio and her husband, Dan
and sister, Lonia Rose Myers of Mount Pleasant, TX.  Odena was a wonderful
mother and inspiration to her daughters.

Memorial services will be at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, 5240 Talmadge Rd.,
Toledo, on Monday, May 19th at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
