He looked down upon this earth and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful - He only takes the best. He knew you were in pain. He knew you would never get well Upon this earth again. He saw the roads getting rough and the hills harder to climb, So he closed your weary eyes and whispered in your ear, ``Peace be thine.'' It broke our hearts to lose you, But you did not go alone, For part of us went with you The day God called you home. We'll meet you in Heaven. We love you and will miss you. At this frozen moment in time I stand here in thought Of all the material things In life, I have valued and sought I think all of my unsaid Thank You's The overlooking of gestures loving and kind The supportive, now tired shoulder I leaned on That I never had to look or ask for, to find. That came from the now most delicate lips All the confidence giving words and kisses All the hunger pains extinguished By so many lovingly prepared dishes. At first, I stood at this bedside Just bitterly blaming life For now taking away the heart Of a great, guiding force in my life. But while trying to hold this now frail hand In mine, ever so gently and kind I started to feel a gladness That at this time, did not expect to find. I now see an end to my own sadness With the end of a cherished one's pain By returning the attention and caring Of one I will never feel again. The impending sorrow I have feared With joy, I shall now also face For I can return the unselfish love Before a loving soul departs this place.I love you, Nana, Russ There will be a one day visitation on March 18, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Johnson's Funeral Home, family will be present from 1 to 5 p.m. No burial services will be performed due to Peg's wishes to be cremated.
