Jacquier, better known as ``Jaq Jaquier,'' went to join his wife and son on Sunday, April 27, 1997. He was currently employed by the civil service as the chief of resources at Goodfellow Air Force Base. He was born on March 24, 1937, in White Plains, N.Y., to Marion (Aryes) Jaquier and Armono Francois Jaquier. He was an only child. In September of 1956, he joined the Air Force. He was married previously and they had one son, Charles Jaquier. On Sept. 24, 1965, he married Cherry Lee Dehart in Bangkok, Thailand. They had two sons, Michael A. Jaquier and Paul A. Jaquier. Jaq attended San Angelo College (now Angelo State University) from 1967 until 1969 when he graduated under the Bootstap commissioning and enrolled in Officers Training School in San Antonio. He obtained a master's degree in anthropology with a specialization in archaeology. He retired from the Air Force in 1980 as a captain. He first became involved in 1969 at Fort Concho as a cataloger of weapons and was well-known by his insistences of relocating the Surgeon Quarters. He continued to prove his expertise through archaeological digs and surveys in San Angelo and the surrounding areas in Texas. He was a longtime active member of the Tom Green County Historical Society, researching history and submitting articles while holding various offices and positions. He taught the Sage Program students at Fort Concho and was a continuous guest speaker at all of the San Angelo schools. During his life in San Angelo, he was active as a member of the San Angelo Rattlesnake Club, a team coach at the YMCA and an avid patron of the arts. Jaq was well distinguished for his integrity and knowledge. He is leaving many friends and family to join his wife, Cherry, and son Michael. He leaves two sons, Paul Jaquier and Charles Jaquier; Charles' wife, Lori; four grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Barbara Leathers; three sisters-in-law, Brenda Lowry, Shawn Smith and Jan Leathers; three brothers-in-law, Bill Leathers, Winston Lowry and Larry Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews. All who knew Jaq were as family to him and he loved them well. If you wish to make a donation in memory of Jaq, please consider Fort Concho or Hospice. Jaq will be forever missed. ELIZABETH `BETTY' McCLELLAN Elizabeth ``Betty'' McClellan, 83, of San Angelo died at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, 1997, in a local hospital. Betty was born Nov. 17, 1913, in Groton, Conn. She was a homemaker and a resident of San Angelo for seven years. Betty enjoyed a good game of bridge, bingo and her social gatherings. She graduated from Hartford School of Nursing. Drew owned his own real estate tax consulting and appraisal business. He graduated from Southern Methodist University with a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting in 1962 and was awarded his doctor of jurisprudence degree in 1965. Drew was a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Salesmanship Club of Dallas, SMU Alumni Association, the SMU Law School Association and the Ferndale Club. He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Francis Pechacek. The family moved to Sheffield in 1949 and Robbie taught school in the Iraan-Sheffield school district until her retirement in 1974. Robbie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Janet Cauthen of San Angelo and her daughter and son-in-law, Gayla and Robert Huff of San Antonio. Mr. Wanoreck was born June 18, 1898, to Joe and Lena Wanoreck in Rockdale, Texas. His family moved to the Olfen community in 1910. He attended Olfen school. As a young man he helped build the St. Boniface Church in Olfen and St. Joseph Church in Rowena. He farmed in the Olfen and Rowena communities. In the 1930s, he moved to Wall to farm. There he married Annie Hejl on Oct. 12, 1935. In 1941, he moved to Mereta to farm until his retirement in 1961, when he moved to San Angelo. He was a former director of the Mereta Co-op Gin, a member of the Rowena Sons of Hermann Lodge and a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. Watson, devoted husband of Robbie Lee (Bobbie) Bailey Watson for 58 years and beloved father of Brenda and Sally, passed on to a life without pain on May 3, 1997. He was born to H.W. Watson Sr. and Minneola Watson, pioneer West Texans, on Aug. 29, 1910, and had lived his entire life in San Angelo. He was the last survivors of his parents and siblings. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Watson; a daughter, Sally Watson Moore of Ardmore, Pa., and Brenda Morris and husband, Mike, of San Angelo. Other survivors include seven grandchildren, Will Moore, Kristen Szudlo, Robbie Lee Moore, Roy Moore and their father, Bill Moore, Robert Morris, Mary Morris and Louis Morris. He also leaves loving in-laws, nieces and nephews, and three great-grandchildren, Quincey Moore and Logan and Ashton Szudlo. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mildred, June and Greta, and a brother, Frank. H and Bobbie Watson were married in June 1938. He was a civilian employee at Goodfellow Air Force Base during World War II and was presented an award of merit for his contributions to the war effort. In the 1950s, he owned Watson and Badgett Machine Shop with Buck Badgett. He was later employed by Ethicon. Following retirement, he worked as a machinist at the Lighthouse for the Blind and volunteered there as long as he was able. He was a Presbyterian but he worshiped God in the out-of-doors. The sky was his cathedral. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing and was proud of being a Texan. He was a life member of the NRA. He was greatly loved and respected by family and friends. WALLACE JOINER ELDORADO - Wallace Joiner, 87, of Eldorado died Monday, May 5, 1997, in Schleicher County Medical Center. Service will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Andy Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Eldorado Cemetery. Arrangements are by Kerbow Funeral Home. Wallace was born in Lampasas County on April 12, 1910, to Catholeen and William Joiner. He moved with his family to Schleicher County in 1924. He attended school in Eldorado, and was involved in farming and ranching with his family. He lived in Coke County for a time in the 1930s and worked as a cowboy. Wallace served in the United States Army during World War II from March 1942 through August of 1945. His Infantry Regiment, Company C 473d, was involved in campaigns through Northern Africa, Italy, France and Germany. He was awarded five Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. After the war, Wallace returned to Eldorado. He served as sheriff and tax assessor-collector in 1947 and 1948. He had been a longtime member of the First Baptist Church. He married Lula Mae Green on June 10, 1953. They enjoyed working together in the farm and ranch industry. He is survived by his wife, Lula Mae of Eldorado; a son, Wayne and his wife, Shirley, and their children, Travis, Rachel and Evan, all of Eldorado; a daughter, Wally and her husband, Clay Leaverton, and their children, Analee, Madison and Matthew, all of Lubbock; a son, John Paul and his wife, Cynthia, and their children, Jennifer, Jeff, Johnna, and J.P, all of Eldorado. Pallbearers will be Myrl Sudduth and L.L. ``Red'' Griffin, both of Eldorado, cousin, Lemuel Joiner of Austin, and nephews, Gail Mittel of Eldorado, Bill Green of San Antonio and Tom Green of Austin. Louis was preceded in death by his wife, Joann, his father, Fred, and his mother, Bertha. Louis retired from City Lumber and Wholesale as yard foreman. He enjoyed his friends at the Elks Club and the Owls Roost. After retirement, he also enjoyed playing tournament darts and dominoes. He gave generously of his time to the Elks Club and its projects. His love of nature and his garden occupied much of his time. We will all miss our father, grandfather and great-grandfather, lovingly known as Pooh. Marvin was born Aug. 22, 1921, to Paul and Lois Jones in Rochelle, Texas. He graduated from high school in Winters, Texas, in 1939. Marvin moved to San Angelo in 1945. That same year, he married Katherine Tatum on Dec. 17 in San Angelo. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1943 to 1946. After the service he worked in civil service as a foreman in the sheet metal shop until he retired after 35 years. Marvin is survived by his wife, Katherine Jones of Spicewood; one son, Dr. Marvin Jones Jr. and his wife, Sandy, of Kingwood; one daughter, Mickey Smith and her husband, Dwayne, of Spicewood; one brother, Col. He was married to Mary Thomas June 14, 1938, in Lubbock and was a surgeon at Clinic-Hospital for 31 years.
