He knew that you were suffering; He knew that you were in pain; He knew that you would never get well On this earth again. My Hero I can still see her sewing some clothes for me. Her hands run so smoothly while she is sewing. I can hear her voice singing to the soft song I play on the piano. I smell her perfume. It smells like wild roses blooming. I can feel her hands doing my hair. Not one strand pulled or out of place. I can taste her homemade, fresh tortillas. All this makes me wish she were here and not so far away. She is always there when I need her to teach me more. She lives so far away, but I can feel her cheer me up. When I am down, she encourages good thoughts. She is also very giving. My hero is my Nana Herminia. But for short we call her Nana Mini. She makes me feel my age, not as if I am two.Poem by granddaughter, Natalie Arrieta PEDRO ENRIQUE `QUIQUE' ALFARO Pedro Enrique ``Quique'' Alfaro, 54, of San Angelo died Friday, Sept. 19, 1997, in Shannon Medical Center.
