Floyd Milliorn WINTERS - Floyd Milliorn, 89, of Winters died Thursday, April 30, 1998, in an Abilene hospital. Welch, 85, of San Angelo died Wednesday, April 29, 1998, in a local nursing home. Mr. Welch was born Oct. 22, 1912, in Callahan County in Texas and had lived in Big Spring prior to moving to San Angelo in 1967, where he owned and operated a service station. He was a veteran of World War II, where he was in the 82nd Airborne in the Army Air Corps. Juanita was born July 21, 1904, in Zacatecas, Mexico, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Ben Ficklin Church of Christ and had been a resident of San Angelo for 78 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Velasquez; her daughter, Felicitas Velasquez; and her grandson, Richard Garza. She is survived by five sons, Jose Velasquez and wife, Catherine, Bruno Velasquez, Santos Velasquez, Esteban Velasquez and wife, Irene, and Manuel Velasquez Jr., all of San Angelo; a daughter, Olivia Garza and husband, Eddie, of San Angelo; 12 grandchildren, including three special ones she raised, Bruno, Julio and Rita; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. OPAL KIRKHAM JACOBY ROBERT LEE - Opal Kirkham Jacoby of Robert Lee died Monday, April 27, 1998, at her home. Arrangements were by Shaffer Funeral Home. Opal was born in Lamar County, a daughter of Zed Carlton Kirkham and Mary Jane Bryant Kirkham. She was married to W.E. Jacoby on Feb. 24, 1946, in San Angelo at the home of their good friends, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Hall Jr. Mrs. Jacoby served as Coke County justice of the peace, Precinct 1, from 1975 to 1990. She was a member of the Southside Church of Christ. She was a member of the '64 Study Club and a life member of the Justices of the Peace and Constables Association of Texas. She served as past matron of Brady Chapter 167 and of Robert Lee Chapter 187 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.E. ``Jake'' Jacoby on Feb. 25, 1991. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Burns and husband, Bill, of Robert Lee and Nancy Baty of San Francisco, Calif.; one sister, Katherine Gullatt of Van Nuys, Calif.; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Boyd Kirkham of Dallas; grandchildren, Natalie Jameson Hodges of Odessa, Stacy Jameson of San Antonio, Amber Baty of Stillwater, Okla., Sheree Burns Mullaney of Bryan and Dean Burns of Robert Lee; and a great-granddaughter, Kailee Radloff. Nathaniel Hankins. Arrangements are by Johnson's Funeral Home. Mr. McNelly was born Aug. 17, 1911, in San Saba to Will and Viola Campbell McNelly. He married Gertrude McNelly. She preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John Thomas McNelly and George McLemore; and two sisters, Irene McNelly and Geneva McLemore. J.B. was employed with the San Angelo Independent School District as a custodian for many, many years. Survivors include one son, J.B. MARGIE EDITH HENRY Margie Edith Henry, 82, entered into the presence of her Lord on April 30, 1998. A resident of San Angelo for the past two years, Margie had lived in Tucson, Ariz., for 52 years. She was born on Sept. 13, 1915, in West Virginia to Alex and Adeline Rollins, who preceded her in death. Margie is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, James C. Henry; her son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Claudine Henry of Arlington; and her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Ralph Graham of San Angelo. Also surviving are five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and her special friends, Susan and Ralph Shields of Tucson. She was a retired bookkeeper and a member of Southland Baptist Church. He was awarded the Army of Occupation Ribbon (Japan), two overseas service bars, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Ribbon with one Bronze Star and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star. From 1946 to 1954, he served in Company 1 of the 142nd Infantry Regiment of the Texas National Guard as master sergeant. Chester married Billie Dodson on Oct. 18, 1947. He is survived by his wife, Billie; one son, Charles Allen Simpson and his wife, Kay, of Texarkana; one granddaughter, Tracy Manon Simpson of Dallas; one brother, Fred L. He was the son of Carl Smith Sr. and Loura Smith. He married Mozella on July 31, 1946, in Eden. He worked for Lubke Chevrolet for 40 years, was a member of Woodmen of the World and was a veteran of the Armed Forces. Survivors include two daughters, Sherrill Willis of Roanoke, Va., and Sheila Shelton of Green Brier, Ark.; one sister, Betty Green of Fort Worth; and numerous nieces and nephews. Born in 1906 in Waco, John spent his bachelor days as a cowboy in both New Mexico and in Big Spring, where he met and married Lora Lee Couch. They were wed on Dec. 8, 1940, almost exactly one year before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. They moved to San Angelo prior to John's enlistment in the Army Air Force in May of 1941, after which he was stationed in Sioux Falls, S.D. John and Lora returned to San Angelo to live after his discharge from the service. He was a longtime member of Lake View Baptist Church and retired from Lone Star Gas Co. in 1971. John was always a big fan and supporter of Lake View High School, backing the Chiefs for years in sports, and throughout the '60s and '70s while he had kids of his own or nieces and nephews attending, you would find him in the stands. Upon his retirement from Lone Star Gas, he became ``Papa'' Brasher to busloads of band kids when he volunteered as a sponsor for out-of-town football games and contests. He knew every one of them by name, and could relate stories of every kind about these ``adopted'' kids for all the years after he could no longer make the trips. Survivors include his wife, Lora; two sons, Perry Brasher and wife, Linda, of San Angelo and John Daniel Brasher of Albuquerque, N.M.; two daughters, Sarah Williams and husband, Gregg, of Lubbock and Patricia Gray and husband, Tommy, of San Angelo; three grandchildren, Michael Brasher of Ballinger and Donald Brasher and Tiffany Gray, both of San Angelo. Services are pending at Stevens Funeral Home. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Obituaries DELTON G. `MACK' McQUEEN BALLINGER - Delton G. ``Mack'' McQueen, 81, of Ballinger passed away at 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 1998, in Big Spring Veteran's Hospital. Military graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, May 8, in Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. Tony King will help officiate. There will be a family visitation from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 7, at Rains-Seale Funeral Home. He was born on May 21, 1916, in Runnels County to Benjaman and Nora McQueen. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, three sisters and two brothers. He is survived by four sisters, Pauline Bradshaw and her husband, John, Pearl Ransbarger and Eva Burris, all of Ballinger, and Faye Ray and her husband, Roy, of Dripping Springs; and one brother, H.H. ``Buddy'' McQueen of Ballinger. EMILY LOUISE TOWER Emily Louise (Lou) Tower died on Monday, May 4, 1998, in San Diego. Lou was born in San Angelo on April 10, 1952. After graduating from San Angelo Central High School, she attended San Diego State University, graduating with a degree in accounting. She was a resident of San Diego for 28 years and was a practicing CPA at the time of her death. She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel B. Tower. She is survived by her children, Matthew Lucy and Allison Lucy of San Diego; her mother, Jet Tower of Las Vegas; her brother, Dan Tower of Arvada, Colo.; her sister, Betty Tower of Las Vegas; and her uncle, John Barnes of San Angelo. The family requests that memorials be given to a favorite charity. DONNA `TOM' WHITE CORPUS CHRISTI - Donna ``Tom'' White, 70, passed away Monday, May 4, 1998. From 1951 to 1964 Tom had resided in San Angelo and then moved to Corpus Christi. She was an avid golfer and bridge player. Since her retirement from the civil service, she and her husband enjoyed 10 wonderful retirement years together. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Norman White of Corpus Christi; two daughters, Michelle (David) Hedberg of Corpus Christi and Pam (David) Burdick of Georgetown; one son, Greg (Patty) White of Salt Lake City, Utah; six grandchildren, Kenneth, Andrea, Nathan, Marshall, Travis and Wendy; one great- granddaughter, Karah; three sisters and one brother, all of Iowa. A private family interment will be held in Seaside Memorial Park in Corpus Christi. RONALD E. `RON' KINGCAID SAN ANTONIO - Ronald E. ``Ron'' Kingcaid, born Dec. 17, 1945, died Monday, May 4, 1998, at the age of 52 years. Mr. Kingcaid was a native of Houston, former resident of San Antonio and had lived in San Angelo for the past 10 years. He was retired from the FAA with 30 years of service as an air traffic controller. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Rios Kingcaid of San Angelo; daughters, Shelley D. Kingcaid and Nicole K. Villarreal; son, Zachary T. Villarreal; granddaughter, Sierra M. Villarreal; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Gladys and Frank Rios Sr.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 7, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church with Father Pat Cronin celebrant. A memorial service will be held in San Angelo at a later date. MARY HELEN JACKSON LOCKLIN STOCKTON Mary Helen Jackson Locklin Stockton, 87, of Eldorado passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 1998, in Schleicher County Medical Center. Visitation will be from noon Thursday, May 7, to noon Friday, May 8, at the Kerbow Funeral Home in Eldorado. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Fort McKavett Cemetery with the Rev. Hawley Wolfe of First Presbyterian Church in Eldorado officiating. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Mary was born Jan. 25, 1911, in Williamson County to J.T. Jackson and Mary Louise Davis. Mary Helen attended Baylor University and majored in music and English. She taught school at the Opp School House in Menard County. She was a lifetime rancher in Schleicher County since 1948 and a member of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dobs Locklin; three brothers, Edwin M. Jackson Sr., J.T. Jackson Jr., and Willie Wood Jackson; a great- grandson and two great-granddaughters. Survivors include two daughters, Patsy Jo Bradley of Eldorado and Maggie Lew Middleton and husband, Ronnie, of Fort Collins, Colo.; a son, Curtis Stockton Jr. and wife, Jeannie, of Houston; eight grandchildren; and 12 great- grandchildren. BEULAH MAY CONDRA BARNETT BALLINGER - Beulah May Condra Barnett, 83, of Grapevine and formerly of Ballinger, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 1998, in Colleyville. Service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 8, in Rains-Seale Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Winford Gore officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Beulah was born on Oct. 23, 1914, in Runnels County. She married Hank Barnett on March 17, 1933, and had two children; a daughter, Serena, and a son, Mike. Serena gave Beulah three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren who currently live in New Mexico. Mike gave her six grandchildren and five great- grandchildren who all live in Texas. Beulah attended school in Wingate and resided in both Paint Rock and Ballinger. She was employed by several different places in Ballinger during the 1950s. Besides being a licensed beautician, she was a loving care giver for not only her family, but many others as well. Beulah continued to care for others until her death. Her fondest memories were of her family, friends and square dancing. Her husband, Hank, passed away July 5, 1983.
