FAY KATHLEEN GRISSETT MIDLAND - Fay Kathleen Grissett passed away on Friday, May 28, 1999, in Houston. She was born July 23, 1909, to Charles B. and Annie O. Couger on a ranch near Brad, Palo Pinto County. She was preceded in death by W.J. Grissett, her husband of 56 years and retired general manager of the Big Lake Oil Company at Texon. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Carol Grissett of Louisville, Ky., and David and Marion Grissett of Houston; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Fay graduated from Sul Ross State College and received a master's degree from the Texas Woman's University. She retired from the Midland Independent School District and she was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, the Delta Kappa Gamma Society, the Midland Retired Teacher's Association, the Midland Genealogical Society, the Midland Arts Association, the En Amie Club and the Santa Rita Club. Fay was also a member of and past president of the Palette Club and she was an elder of the Memorial Christian Church, where she had been a member since 1956. Mr. Hunt was with Hicks Rubber Co. from 1928-1934; owned and operated a service station from 1934-1953; and then was employed at SESCO and Sheen Electric. He was a member of Beacon Baptist Church. WILLIAM MARSHALL HARRISON William Marshall Harrison, 83, of San Angelo passed away Tuesday, June 1, 1999, in Shannon Medical Center. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in Evergreen Cemetery in Ballinger. Marshall was born Aug. 22, 1915, in Dangerfield and was a resident of San Angelo for 52 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of College Hills Baptist Church. He was a former grandmaster of the Knights of Pythias, a former noble grand and district deputy grand master of the Odd Fellows Lodge. Marshall was a test-tire driver at Goodyear for 28 years, having retired 21 years ago. Marshall was married to Clois Delora White on April 25, 1936, in Paint Rock. She married William ``Bill'' Keller on Feb. 28, 1940. Bill died in February 1978. Edna was a federal employee for 32 years in Dallas, Washington, D.C., and at Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo. She retired in March of 1968. Survivors are a number of nieces and nephews, including Edna Hunter of Garland, Edward Monahan of Maryland, Mary Sue Clark of Waco and Walter Dolehite of Waco. Simpson passed away Wednesday, June 2, 1999, in Austin. He was born Aug. 20, 1920, in Decatur, Texas, and was preceded in death by his son, John Simpson of San Antonio. Mr. Simpson is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Jackie Oden Simpson. Mr. Simpson grew up in San Angelo, where, after graduating from high school, he attended San Angelo College and worked with his father during summers and weekends learning the surveying profession. He entered the University of Texas in 1940 and was a student in the School of Engineering until he enlisted in the Army in 1942. Mr. Simpson served his country until 1946 with the 648th and 29th Army Engineers in the South Pacific. After the war, he completed his education and graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in civil engineering. Mr. Simpson was a registered professional engineer and registered professional surveyor and during his career was licensed to practice in numerous states in addition to Texas. His service to his profession was extensive as a member and director of the Texas Surveyors Association and Texas Board of Professional Land Surveying, as well as other professional engineering and surveying organizations. Because of his experience and unique qualifications, Mr. Simpson was recognized by many as the foremost authority in settling disputes between states regarding common boundaries of river channels. Mr. Simpson also is survived by his daughter, Jackie Sharon Depew and her husband, Winston Depew, and daughter, Rebecca Lee Moch and her husband, Leslie Moch. In addition, he is survived by six grandchildren, Travis Ray, Jackie Christine McNulty, Matthew Simpson, Lisa Simpson, Amie Moch and Andrew Moch, and by eight great-grandchildren. Except for a period during and shortly after World War II, when she was fountain manager of Walgreen's Drug Store, her life was dedicated to filling the role of wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. H.W. was a building contractor for more than 40 years in the Permian Basin, San Angelo and the Amistad Lake area. He lived in Texas for most of his life and moved to the Orange County, Calif., area in 1994. Kelli taught school at San Benito, Riverside-Fort Worth, New Deal and was presently a teacher at Cornerstone Christian School in San Angelo. Kelli was baptized at First Christian Church in Kingsville. She had been an active member along with her family of Bedford Christian Church, Bacon Heights Baptist Church in Lubbock and presently at Park Heights Baptist Church in San Angelo. Kelli will be long remembered for her quickness to take charge when she saw a need, and as a lady who saw her greatest accomplishment as being a wife and mother. Her husband John remembers her as a wonderful wife, mother and friend. He says it is our loss and Heaven's gain. Survivors include her husband, John F.
