Louise loved life and her large family was the center of all she did. She enjoyed traveling to visit her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, or having her children and their families return to her nurturing arms. Louise Constance Baker was born May 16, 1932, in Brookline, Mass., to Edward James Baker and Louise Constance (Decker) Baker. She came from a sailing family and her love of sailing ships and the ocean grew from this heritage. Louise raised five children and was proud of each of their accomplishments. She and the children moved to Texas in 1966 and that became Louise's new home. She easily lost her ``Yankee accent,'' overcame numerous adversities to provide for her family and undertook many activities to enhance the quality of life for all. She instilled the values that are embodied in a simple life, kind heart and strong mind that the entire family cherishes. Louise had the intellect to be whatever she chose and she proudly chose to be a mother and matriarch for which we will all be eternally grateful. This excerpt of a poem titled, ``Sometimes, Families Have to be Apart,'' by Marin McKay reflects on the strong family she built even though geography and life's circumstances have not always afforded the family the opportunity to be together. Louise's strong religious foundation and belief that we will be together again are aptly stated here: ``Our wonderful family is like a candle that reflects its joy within our hearts. And it's like a fire that keeps us close and warm no matter how long we're apart ... Each time I think of you, I promise to send you a kiss on the wind. And I promise I'll be counting the days until I can see you again.'' Louise is survived by her children and families: son, Nelvin Jr. and wife, Cecilia Tyler, of Alexandria, Va., and their children, Lisa (Tyler) Northrup and Jason Tyler and grandson, Isaiah; daughter, Belinda (Tyler) and Charles Connaly of Pasadena and their son, Robbie Tinsley, and grandsons, Bradley and Devin Tinsley; son, Bradley and Gina Tyler of Tallala, Okla., and their children, Bradley Tyler Jr., Sandra (Tyler) and James Sturman of Cary, N.C., and their children, Laura Sturman and Danny Seals Jr. and granddaughter, Victoria Seals; and daughter, Lauren (Tyler) and Michael Harrison of San Angelo and their children, Reana and Michael Harrison. Her sister-in-law, Wilma Baker and family of Vancouver, Wash., also survive her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Paul Baker; and two great-grandchildren, Brittany Tinsley and Alissa Tyler. Memorial service arrangements are pending. The family asks that donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation or Vista Care Family Hospice. The loved ones of Louise Tyler sincerely appreciate the loving care provided by the doctors and nurses of Shannon Hospital and Vista Care Family Hospice. Momma, we owe our successes to you.
