She served in the WAVES in World War II, was a retired Spanish teacher and a Methodist. Lynda Terry KERRVILLE - Lynda Catherine Terry, 94, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, in a local care center. Kerr, both of San Antonio; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Willis Minnick EARLY - Willis Minnick, 62, of Lake Brownwood died Jan. 13, 2000, in a Brownwood hospital. He was born Aug. 10, 1937, in Sonora and had been a resident of Tamarack Mountain and Odessa before moving to Lake Brownwood six years ago. He was a retired construction engineer, a Baptist and a member of the American Legion. J. Frank Nance BALLINGER - J. Frank Nance, 71, of Ballinger died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, in a San Angelo hospital. Serapita Pena MENARD - Serapita ``Sadie'' Pena, 76, of Menard died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, in Eden. She was born Jan. 29, 1924, in Guerrero Coahuila, Mexico. She worked as a server in the nutrition center and was a Catholic. He was born Oct. 10, 1912, in Roby and was a lifetime resident of Sweetwater. An Army veteran of World War II, he owned and operated the Fina Distributorship and retired as a farmer and a rancher. He was a member of Highland Heights United Methodist Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his wife, Viola Benson of Sweetwater; a daughter, Verna Jo Berrington of Conroe; two sisters, Naomi Rogers of El Paso and Jewel Thompson of Lockney; a grandson; and two great-grandsons. Florence Rhoton BIG SPRING - Florence Rhoton, 96, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, in a local nursing home. She was born Aug. 16, 1903, in Coahoma and was a lifetime resident of Howard County. She worked as a salesclerk and was a homemaker. She was a member of 14th and Main Street Church of Christ. Tomas Robles BRADY - Tomas ``Tom'' Galvan Robles, 74, of Brady died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, in San Antonio. He was a Navy veteran and operated the Clean & Press Shop. He was a member of Baptist Mission. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, at Johnson's Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, in Fairmount Cemetery. Captola was born Sept. 27, 1920, in Obion County, Tenn., to Charles Edward and Willie Weaks. She was baptized into the church at Johnson Grove Baptist Church. She married Robert Calvin Hutchens in 1938. They lived in Kentucky until they moved to San Angelo in 1953 for her health. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and sisters and her husband who died in 1970. She is survived by one sister, Mary Barber of South Fulton, Tenn. Other survivors include a son, Charles Hutchens and his wife, Connie, of San Angelo; one grandson, Scott Hutchens of Pilot Point; two granddaughters, Julianna Hodges and her husband, Brad, of Grand Prairie and Stephanie Marth and her husband, Jim, of Memphis, Tenn.; and three great-grandchildren, Dylan and Ross Hutchens of Pilot Point and Jade Marie Marth of Memphis. She also is survived by one nephew and six nieces. The family would like to thank Home Health Care; Dr. Walter Hewell; Chuck and Leslie Richardson, her wonderful neighbors; the nurses, aides and staff at Riverside Rehabilitation Center; and Virginia Clark with Hospice for their special care. Sheppard Sr., 60, of San Angelo died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at his residence. Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, in Grape Creek Cemetery with Pastor Darryl Williams of Baptist Tabernacle of San Angelo officiating. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Jessie was born Nov. 25, 1939, in Wayland, Texas, to Juanita Elizabeth and Jessie Howard Sheppard. He worked as a cowboy and ranch hand for many years. He loved being a cowboy and riding his horse. He loved his friends at the Elks Lodge 1880. He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Jean Sheppard on Feb. 14, 1998. Survivors include his very special friend, Charlotte Underwood; two sons, Shane and wife, Mary Ann, and Jessie Jr. and wife, Resa, all of San Angelo; two daughters, Susan Ford and husband, Steve, of Albany, and Katheryn Buford and husband of Canyon City, Colo.; three brothers, Chuck Sheppard and Ernest Sheppard, both of San Angelo, and Tom Sheppard of Houston; a sister, Linda Hulsey of Midland; 10 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Richard Spurger, Vernon Timm, Dwayne Ogden, Jessie Sheppard Jr., Shane Sheppard and Lonnie Prescott. Honorary pallbearers will be the 4th United States Calvary Co. D Memorial unit from Old Fort Concho.
