He was born Sept. 23, 1947, in Denton and had been a six-year resident of Knickerbocker. He had worked for General Dynamics in aircraft maintenance. Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Cottle of San Angelo; a daughter, Julieana Smith of Kingsland; a son, Brandon Thomas Cottle of San Angelo; his father, E.T. David Routon David Routon, 47, of Big Lake died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, in a Big Lake hospital. Services are pending at Johnson's Funeral Home. Dewey Hooten KINGSLAND - Dewey Olvern Hooten, 75, of Buchanan Dam died Thursday, Feb. 24, in a local hospital. Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home Chapel. He was born Jan. 18, 1925, in Copperas Cove and had lived in Buchanan Dam since 1978. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was an iron worker in construction. He was a member of the American Legion, the Iron Workers Union and the National Rifle Association. Survivors include his wife, Judy Hooten of Buchanan Dam; two daughters, Rebecca Voss of Austin and Tena Boury of Paducah, Ky.; a sister, Eunice Hanzel, and a brother, Richard Hooten, both of Midland; and three nieces and one nephew. Floyd Morris SANTA ANNA - Floyd Morris, 89, of Whon died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, in a Brownwood nursing home. Graveside service will be at noon Saturday in Whon Cemetery. Arrangements are by Henderson Funeral Home. He was born Dec. 26, 1910, in Twenty Wire, McCulloch County and had lived in Coleman County since 1942. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a stockfarmer. Survivors include three sons, John David Morris of Whon, Joe Floyd Morris of Colleyville and Jamie Lee Morris of Arlington; two sisters; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Victor Kothmann MASON - Dr. Victor Lagle Kothmann, 82, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, in a local care center. Service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church with burial in Gooch Cemetery. Arrangements are by Mason Funeral Home. He was born April 1, 1917, in Mason County and was a lifetime resident of Mason. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a veterinarian. He was a member of the State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners and a lifetime member of the Methodist church at Mason and Buchanan Dam. Survivors include his wife, Frances Sue Graham Kothmann of Pleasanton; sons Don Wayne Kothmann of Katy and Dean Lagle Kothmann of Overland Park, Kan; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rosalyn Mickle KERRVILLE - Rosalyn Phillips Mickle, 92, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at her residence. Memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Grimes Funeral Chapels. She was born June 26, 1907, in Caldwell and had been a resident of Kerrville since 1947. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Survivors include a stepson, Dr. Edwin R. Mickle of Midland; and numerous nieces and nephews. Amelia Armendariz SWEETWATER - Amelia Armendariz, 89, of Arlington died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, in an Arlington nursing home. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at the First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Tubbs, pastor, officiating. Entombment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park Mausoleum. She was born Jan. 10, 1926, in Big Spring and married Jim Lemons on June 3, 1950, in Big Spring. Mrs. Lemons was a longtime resident of Big Spring. She was the granddaughter of pioneer Howard County settlers, Horatio and Elizabeth Miller, who settled in the Luther community in 1906 and the daughter of Kyle and Frankie Miller who ranched in the Luther community. She graduated from Lovington High School, Lovington, N.M., and attended Texas Woman's College in Denton. She was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and had been involved in civic and cultural activities. Survivors include her husband, Jim Lemons of Big Spring; two daughters, Xan Painter of Luther and Lisa Nichols of San Angelo; eight grandchildren; Tonya Spence and her husband, Garry, of Big Spring, Zack Seely of Big Spring, Melanie Settles and her husband, Mark, of New Braunfels, Joseph Seely and his wife, Mandy, of Big Spring, Camilla Painter of Luther, CharitiXan Nichols, MeLissa Nichols and Trey Nichols, all of San Angelo; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Gray of Odessa; and numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements are by Johnson's Funeral Home. Pauline was born June 8, 1907, in Elks City, Okla. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. Pauline was married to Booth F. McGuire in 1926 in Mertzon, Texas. He preceded her in death on Nov. 13, 1998. Two daughters, Gwendolyn Kasha and Donna Gartman, also preceded her in death. Survivors include one sister, Wanda Luckie of Odessa; four grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. ENRIQUE Y. GALINDO ELDORADO - Enrique Y. Galindo, 69, of Eldorado died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000 in a local nursing home. Service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Eldorado Cemetery. Kerbow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Enrique was born June 15, 1930, in Sonora. He was a ranch foreman and a member of the Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by one son, Richard Galindo Price, and one daughter, Mary Price Galindo. FERN HOGAN AYCOCK Fern Hogan Aycock, 87, of San Angelo died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, in a local nursing center. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, at the First United Methodist Church officiated by the Rev. Carl Rohlfs and the Rev. Grosse Mohler. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, directed by Johnson's Funeral Home. Fern was born April 21, 1912, in Thornton, Texas, to James Wesley Hogan and Maude (Murphy) Hogan. She married Joe Aycock April 24, 1932, in Decatur, Texas. He preceded her in death Aug. 19, 1997. Fern and her husband owned and operated Home Hardware for many years until they retired. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Friendship Bible Class since moving to San Angelo in 1959. ROSEMARY B. MENN Rosemary B. Menn, 71, of San Angelo went to our Lord Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Mike O'Neill, pastor of Northridge Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Rosemary was born Aug. 31, 1928, in Miles, Texas, to Brodie and Willie Edith Baker. She lived the majority of her life in San Angelo where she worked for General Telephone Co. for 37 years, retiring in 1989. She was a member of Northridge Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Byron Baker; and a son, William Marshall Menn. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Ernest J. Menn of San Angelo; two daughters, Johna Phelps and her husband, Art, of Texarkana and Barbara Menn of San Angelo; one granddaughter, Tracy Roberson and her husband, Kenneth, of Stephenville; one grandson, John Phelps of Texarkana; two great-grandsons, Dakota Roberson and Kobe Roberson, both of Stephenville; and numerous friends throughout the community. MAE SHIPLEY Mae Shipley, 91, of San Angelo passed away Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, in a local nursing home. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with the Rev. I.W. Greer, pastor of Bethel Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Mae was born Oct. 25, 1908, in Richland County, Ill., to Albert and Bertha Bricker. She farmed in Christoval and retired from Baptist Memorials Center. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Mae loved her cats. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, A.J. Shipley in 1957; a sister, Arrena B. Payne; and four brothers, Troy, Leonard, Perry and Loren Bricker. She is survived by a niece, Mrs. Hallie Cox of San Angelo; a nephew, Bruce Vallandingham of San Angelo; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special caregiver, great-niece, Brenda Vallandingham of San Angelo.
