She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Doyle Oliver of Killeen; and one son, James Duffy of San Angelo; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A charter member of Full Gospel Assembly, she played piano and led the choir for many years. She was a licensed minister and ministered to the elderly of San Angelo for 30 years. Mrs. Duffy preached on Sunday morning, led the singing and enlisted her choirs to sing at the services and holidays. She ensured each resident received a Christmas present through her own efforts and expense. The Christmas orders for the cakes she gave rose in number over the years. She baked throughout December for her friends, family and those who asked. Each wanted their favorites. Our gentle lady taught many to play piano and sing. She wrote gospel music and was a published songwriter. Known as Nunu to all, she was listed in the Notable Women of Texas volume for 1984-85 for her unwavering service to the elderly. She received certificates of appreciation from the Family Shelter of San Angelo as a victim's advocate volunteer in 1995 and again in 1998. How appropriate her title as advocate, she was that for any she encountered when there was often no one else to turn to. God has blessed so many through her towering heart and the love she demonstrated to all. Her arms were open so wide yet her time for us remained undivided. She is with Jesus. We celebrate her accomplishment of the goal of heaven she labored so diligently to win. We will miss her wisdom. We will miss her laughter.
