Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Johnson's Funeral Home. Clinton was born Oct. 5, 1912, to William Crockett and Minnie Laura Walker Whitt in Cherokee, Texas. His family moved to San Saba, Texas. He graduated from San Saba High School in May 1932 where he played on the football team. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He married Drew Anna Millsap on June 12, 1937, in San Angelo. Clinton was an electrician at Goodfellow Air Force Base for many years. He attended Business Men's Bible Class. Clinton was preceded in death by his wife, Drew Anna; infant son; his parents; three brothers, twin Clarence, and Lee, and W.C. Whitt; and two sisters, Lavera and Flora Belle. Survivors include sisters-in-law, Bobbie Stanley of Kerrville and Adelle Whitt of San Angelo; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the charity of choice. HONOFRE G. SOTO Honofre G. Soto (H.G. Soto) went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 26, 2000, in a local hospital. He was born on June 27, 1913, in Knickerbocker, Texas, to Genaro and Casiana Soto. He grew up in Knickerbocker before moving to San Angelo in 1938. He was well-known for his fence building and shearing contracting in New Mexico and Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents Genaro and Casiana Soto; two sisters, Bene Soto and Antonia Soto; four brothers, Tomas Soto, Vidal Soto, Cornelio Soto and Segundo Soto; and a brother-in-law, L.D. Cano. He is survived by two brothers, Genaro Soto and wife, Nellie, and Henry Soto and wife, Emma; two sisters, Elaine Perez and husband, Felix, and Bernice Cano; 31 nieces and nephews; and one special great-nephew, Matthew Soto. ARNOLD FUCHS BALLINGER - Arnold Fuchs, 82, of Rowena and Olfen, went to be with our Gracious Lord on Friday, May 26, 2000, following an automobile accident. Born March 8, 1918, in Olfen to Joseph and Helena Seidel Fuchs, Arnold was a lifelong resident of Runnels County. He married Agnes Halfmann on September 19, 1940, in Olfen. They were members of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Olfen until moving to Rowena in 1975 where they joined St. Joseph Catholic Church. Arnold was a charter and lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and received his fifty-year pin. He served on the Board of Directors of Coleman County Electric Co-op for 39 years, president for 10 years. He served on the Board of the Federal Land Bank for 25 years and on the St. Boniface Church Board for numerous years. Arnold loved to farm and was an avid sportsman. He umpired an untold number of little league games and loved hunting, fishing, skat and dominoes. His greatest love was his family. He took great pride and joy in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. On Dec. 28, 1935, he married Callie Mae Love of Roosevelt, Texas. She passed away January 1956 in El Paso, Texas. Bill was a veteran of World War II, having joined the Army Air Corps in 1942. He served approximately 26 months with the 351st Bomb Group, 511th Squadron based in Polebrook, England, where he was a crew chief on a B-17 bomber. After the war he joined El Paso Natural Gas Co. in 1945 where he became manager of the Insurance and Claims Department. He retired from El Paso Natural Gas Co. Feb. 1, 1975. While in El Paso he met and married Ruby Jewell Brewer in 1969. In 1978 they moved to San Angelo, making their home in the Bentwood Country Club area until Ruby's death in 1994. Bill was a member of the Church of Christ. He is survived by a stepson, Jerry D. Brewer and his wife, Suzanne, their two sons, Mark Brewer and Wesley Brewer and his wife, Waverly, and a great-granddaughter, Ashley Fae Brewer, all of Loveland, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews. PAULINE BRAWNER DUNCAN Pauline Brawner Duncan went to be with the Lord May 29, 2000, at 2 a.m. in Seton Hospital in Austin. She was born May 21, 1924, in Johnson County, Texas. She married Carl Duncan July 21, 1947, in Del Rio. Together they owned and operated Christoval Park & Lodge and Duncan Lumber Co. Pauline was married to the love of her life for 53 years. She was a loving and concerned wife and mother and a faithful friend. Her kind and caring heart and generous spirit will be sorely missed by all the family and friends she leaves behind. She was a pleasure to be around and it was a blessing to know her. She always was happier when she was helping someone else, giving of her time and energy. God blessed her especially in her service to her fellowman. To Pauline it was more blessed to give than to receive. To those who knew and loved Pauline there was ``always a cup of coffee at the kitchen table, a good laugh, a memory shared, a tear shed, and always in her plans for the day, a helping hand for a family member or a friend.'' Service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 1, in Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Beal officiating. Interment will follow in Water Valley Memorial Gardens. She is survived by her husband, Carl Duncan; stepdaughters, Carolyn Matschek and her husband, Kenneth, of San Angelo and Ann Korenek and her husband, Richard, of Kingswood; a sister, Bobbie Sonnenburg and her husband, Ed, of Everman; five grandchildren, Cody and Jeff Daniel, Tonya Davis, Kirk and Monty Benningfield; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Buck Brawner, and her parents. As you rest in peaceful slumber, the angels shall lead you into paradise. God speed, Pauline. W.T. `TOM' GREEN BRONTE - W.T. ``Tom'' Green of Tennyson passed away Monday, May 29, 2000, at his home at the age of 96. Tom was born Dec. 27, 1903, in the Indian Territory of Lawton, Okla., to William Jessie and Etta Iona Johnson Green. He married Betty Paige Brown on Oct. 17, 1917, in Dallas. They moved to the McCamey/Big Lake area to work for Tennaco Oil Co., painting oil tanks at Texon. Moving to Coke County in the early '30s and then on to Lometa community where he worked shearing sheep and trapping furs, they returned to Tennyson and bought the grocery store, Green's Store. They owned and operated it for more than 50 years. Phillips 66 honored him with an award for selling their product for more than 50 years. Betty became the postmaster and Tom was the assistant post office clerk. He also was engaged in stock farming. His hobbies were gardening, fishing and hunting. Tom served as a trustee of the Tennyson School and the Tennyson Community Association. He was the oldest deacon of the Tennyson Baptist Church. Visitation will be at the Tennyson Community Center from 11 a.m. until service time. Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, at the Tennyson Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Bryan Ross and Jackie Rodgers. The family requests that no coats and ties be worn. Burial will follow in Mule Creek Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home. He is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Green Harrell of Sonora and Grace Green Ditmore and her husband, Doug, of Robert Lee; two grandchildren, Gary and Donna Harrell of Lyons, Texas, and Karen and Bob Davis of San Antonio; three great-grandchildren, Kellie Cook of Lyons, Trisha Harrell of Corpus Christi and Les Harrell of Tennyson; three great-great-granddaughters, Stephanie, Johnna and Shayann; four sisters-in-law, Pat Green of Las Vegas, Ruth Hagerman and Emma Stewart, both of San Angelo, and Lora Bell Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Betty, in 1986; his parents, William and Etta Green; his son, William Jessie ``Bill'' Green; and one son-in-law, Joe Edd Harrell. Pallbearers will be Robert C. Schlagal, John Schlagal, Mike Harris, Russel Brown, Leo Stewart and Woodrow Howell. ALAN RAY HARRIS BRADY - Alan Ray Harris, 43, of Brady died Sunday, May 28, 2000, in a boating accident on Lake Ivie in Coleman County. Alan was born April 19, 1957, in San Angelo to Jimmy Harris and Annie Lou Sawyer Harris. He married Julie McFarlin on July 20, 1984, in Abilene. He attended Sonora schools and graduated from Seguin High School. He attended the University of Texas at Austin and Angelo State University. He worked as administrative manager of the SureFed Feed Mill in Brady and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Brady. Alan loved to coach basketball, football, soccer, baseball for kids. He was a ``Sweetie Pie'' to his family. Survivors include his grandmother, Billie Sawyer White of Christoval; his parents, Jimmy and Annie Lou Harris of Abilene; his wife, Julie Harris, and sons, Andrew, Aaron and Brian Harris, all of Brady; his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Donna Harris and their children, Avery and Annie, of San Antonio; his sister, Jana Johnson and her son, Brice, of Abilene; his father- and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. P.C. McFarlin of Monahans; a brother-in-law, Kirk McFarlin of Dallas; and a sister-in-law, Janice Shirley of Monahans. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, A.L. Sawyer. Service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sheldon Johnson officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. in Sherwood Cemetery in Sherwood. Arrangements are by Leatherwood Colonial Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church Youth or to the Brady Youth Sports Foundation.
