Her childhood was remarkable and adventurous with her mom and dad, Mr. and Mrs. Gust F. Rakagis; her brother, Nick; and her sisters, Julie, Betty, Rula and Georgia. As the years went by the family moved from New York, N.Y., to Albuquerque, N.M. There, Frances graduated from Albuquerque High School at the age of 18 and worked and helped Mr. Tucker at the drug store. She was the No. 1 winner to win out of selling the most cosmetics in Albuquerque. She was recognized and overwhelmed by the award. The love of her life walked into the drug store, Roy L. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 26, at Johnson's Funeral Home with burial in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Johnson's Funeral Home. Ernest was born on July 10, 1905, near New Bern, Texas. He was the sixth child of seven (two brothers and five sisters). His parents, Ernest Gesch and Rosa Thren, immigrated from Germany in the late 1800s and were married at Richland, Texas, on Aug. 6, 1896, and made their living as farmers. Ernest's mother died when he was two years old and he went to live with his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. John Prim. He was orphaned at 12 when his father died. He worked for a man named Ulchen for several years, these were hard times and he was unable to attend school. Ernest met and married Clara Weise in 1926, at New Bern and worked for his wife's mother for several years before taking up farming on his own. In 1934 they moved to a farm east of San Angelo and were wiped out in the floods of 1936 and 1938. They recovered from this disaster and prospered. Ernest and his family finally moved near Eola, Texas, in 1938. Though Ernest's wife had diabetes, she and Ernest raised three sons. Diabetes took its toll and Clara died Jan. 1, 1966, after 39 years of marriage. After Clara's death, Ernest met Georgia May Fulghum and they were married Oct. 1, 1966. After they retired from active farming, Ernest worked for Tom Green County. As they aged, they got a position running the local landfill. Gardening and enjoying life filled their later years. Georgia died in 1997 after 31 year of marriage. Ernest is survived by two sisters, Emelia Gesch of Taylor, Texas, and Minnie (Mrs. Alex Whitliff) of Corpus Christi, Texas; his three sons and their wives, Willie and Blanch Gesch of Morgan, Texas, Ernest Jr. and Joan Gesch of Eola and Eugene and Betty Gesch of Paint Rock; numerous nephews and nieces, including nephew, Raymond E. and Faye Gesch, of San Angelo.
