Born Alline Carolyn Terrell on Nov. 8, 1919, in Houston, she is survived by her daughter, Vicki Longmire of Los Alamos, N.M.; her son, Mike Weldon of Grand Prairie; her sister, Annetta Hogan of San Angelo; Vicki's children, Ben and Michelle; Mike's children, Carrie and Mick; her niece, Ann Morrow of San Angelo; and her nephews, John and Charles Champion of Fresno, Calif. Alline was one of four children. She was preceded in death by her sister, Lou, and brother, Jim. Her parents were Charles Booker Terrell and Annie Elaina Fowler Terrell from Daingerfield, Texas. Alline and her husband, Bill (Joseph B. Weldon) were residents of Los Alamos from 1951 to 1973 and residents of San Angelo from 1973 until Bill's death in March of this year. Declining health necessitated her moving to Mike and Ann's neighborhood in Grand Prairie. Two months after the move she experienced respiratory failure, was hospitalized, and after numerous ups and downs, succumbed to this chronic condition. Alline was known and loved for her wonderful sense of humor, the twinkle in her eyes, and her homespun wit and wisdom. She tended her husband, her children, and her flower gardens, and made a happy, comfortable loving home for them. She practiced her painting, poetry and Cajun cooking in the mild climate and picturesque scenery of northern New Mexico. A private service was held Sunday afternoon, Dec. 17, 2000, at Moore Funeral Home on Bowen Road in Arlington. MARK TUINSTRA Mark Tuinstra, born April 17, 1942, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Dec. 8, 2000. He died of prostate cancer at his home in San Antonio, surrounded by his loving family, including his best "Buddy," wife Diane, and their children, son Max and his wife LaDonna Tuinstra, and Renee, Amy and Billy Tuinstra. Mark's faith, perseverance and sense of humor are sources of inspiration for all who knew him. He transformed his yard from a rocky wasteland to a garden paradise during the year before his death. He was unable to complete this project, but assured Diane that he would have the Mansion in Heaven ready when she got there, and the landscaping would be done. He instructed Diane to have his body cremated and to sprinkle his ashes on "whichever tree was doing the sorriest." Diane and children appreciate all the love and support demonstrated by friends and family during the past year, while Mark was present to receive it. Gracious is the Lord and just; yes our God is merciful. Return, my soul to your rest; the Lord has been good to you. For my soul has been freed from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling. I shall walk before the Lord in the land of the living. - Psalm 116 EVELYN HANSON Evelyn Hanson, 71, a resident of San Angelo for 28 years and formerly of San Antonio, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000, in Shannon Medical Center. SALLY HUNTER TROLINGER Sally Hunter Trolinger, an early San Angelo native, died at her home in San Angelo on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2000. She had been suffering from a lingering illness for the past few years. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Mrs. Trolinger was the eldest granddaughter of James Louis Millspaugh, who arrived in the tiny village of San Angelo, with four wooden shacks, nondescript huts, plus saloons and brothels in 1871. She also, on her maternal side, was the granddaughter of Robert Bland Sanderson, a native of England. The Sandersons stayed for a few years in Cambria, Wis., and came by wagon in 1875 to San Angelo. Robert Sanderson was the first president of the San Angelo National Bank. James Millspaugh was elected one of the commissioners when Tom Green County was organized in 1874. He served as justice of the peace and also was appointed postmaster at Fort Concho in 1875. In the laying out of the townsite of San Angelo, Mr. Millspaugh held out for and insisted on the broad streets, which we are enjoying today. Only a great vision of the city that was to be could foresee the necessity of the hundred foot avenues, for then only the post office and a few frame huts along the river constituted the town. Other cities are now faced with this problem of modern traffic, spending thousands and thousands of dollars widening their streets. Through Mr. Millspaughs foresight and vision, San Angelo has been saved this expenditure and tax dollar drain. He also was instrumental in the bringing of the Santa Fes railroad here. He was one of the original subscribers to the capital stock to the San Angelo National Bank, organized in 1884, and elected a member of its first board of directors. In 1884, he built and operated the first ice factory here. In 1885, he organized and operated the Water Company. He also consolidated the Light Company with the Water Company. Millspaugh also was active in efforts to preserve the old fort reservation. He pleaded through the columns of the Standard for the citizens of San Angelo to at least save the parade grounds as a park, but at that time the majority of San Angeloans did not foresee the importance of Fort Concho as a military post and its eventual heritage. They could not visualize it as a monument and drawing card for tourism. Mrs. Trolinger was born March 4, 1909, and she attended San Angelo public schools and graduated with the class of 1925. She went from high school to the Baldwin School in Bryn Mawr, Pa., and later attended the University of Texas for two years followed by a year in New York City at the New York School of Fine Arts and Parsons Applied Arts. She was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. In 1931 she married Ralph Trolinger of Amarillo, Texas, who died several years ago. He founded the Culligan Soft Water franchise in this city. She outlived her son, John Hunter Trolinger, by four years. Her two grandchildren, John Boyd Trolinger of Chico, Calif., a professor at California State University, and Andrie Trolinger Cantu of Austin survive her; also her brother, Dwight L. Hunter Jr. of Dallas. Her cousins include Austin Cunningham Millspaugh of San Angelo, Ford Millspaugh Boulware of San Angelo and Louise Develin Blanchard of Dallas, and there are several nieces, nephews and other cousins.
