Obituaries RICHARD E. BRAZEAL Richard E. Brazeal, 63, of San Angelo died at 6:40 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001, in Lubbock. He was born Sept. 23, 1937, in San Angelo to the union of Bessie Edna Davis and Joseph Richard Dick Brazeal. He was the eldest of three children. His brother, Joe Wayne Brazeal, and sister, Juanita Pearl Cockerell, both preceded him in death, as well as his parents. Richard served six years in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked for Jim Bass Ford for 40 years and was a member of College Hills Baptist Church. He was an avid deer hunter and spent many weeks hunting with friends and his son in West Texas. Richard met, fell in love with and married Arlene Michael in 1959. To their union was born a son, Marvin Eugene. Richard is survived by his wife, Arlene of the home; his son Marvin and his wife, Denise, of San Angelo; two aunts, Callie Norris and Lennie Jackson; and two very special friends, Bob and Lucille Gilliam. Richard was heard to say when we are born we begin to die. He was not afraid to face death. His faith and trust in Jesus Christ made life worth living and dying. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. He now resides in the presence of his Lord and Savior and his family who have gone before him to await the arrival of his dear companion of 42 years, Arlene. Do not stand at my grave and weep: I am not there. I do not sleep I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamonds gilt on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumns rain. When you awaken in the mornings hush. I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds circled in flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and weep and cry; I am not there. I did not die. Rejoice and again I say Rejoice.
