He was born in San Angelo, Texas, to Doyle and Aileen Jones on Jan. 24, 1936. He grew up in McCamey, Texas, where he excelled in many school sports including boxing, track, and above all, his lifelong love for football. After graduating from McCamey High School, he attended college at the University of Texas where he obtained a degree in electrical engineering. Don continued to play football for the Longhorns throughout his college days. After graduating, he worked for several large corporations and finally retired from Phillips Petroleum. Don was a member of Edmond Boulevard Baptist Church. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Bob Elliott officiating. Don was preceded in death by his parents and a very special brother, Ronald Jones of San Angelo. He was led by angels to be with his Lord. He was born Feb. 20, 1954, in Deming, N.M., to Charles Jefferson and Alice Louise Polley Oldaker. As a heart transplant recipient of 13 years, Larry led a full active life and worked as a licensed plumber until a recent illness. Larry valued his gift of life and would encourage others to be organ and tissue donors. She was born Oct. 22, 1908, in Madge, Okla., to John William and Alice Charlott Warren Smith. She married Johnnie H. Baker on June 27, 1925, in Winters. She was a life-long member of the Church of Christ. Johnnie preceded her in death May 17, 1991. She was also proceeded in death by her parents; three brothers; two sisters; one daughter, Fadine Williams; and one grandson, Kenneth McFarland. Myrte was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, William Henry Martin. Myrte was married to Ethel Lee Bland on Dec. 24, 1933, in Haskell, Texas.
