Jan was born Nov. 15, 1949, in Fredericksburg, Texas, to Odis and Leola Landis. She married Sonny Feller on Dec. 17, 1967, in Harper, Texas. She was a homemaker and a Lutheran. She had worked at Barrys and Miss Marys Day Care in San Angelo. She served two terms as president of the Concho Valley Archery Association and was an outdoorswoman and avid hunter. She was named a Lone Star Legend, a prestigious governors award from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for her dedication to the youth of Texas and the future of hunting. She was also a hunt master for the Texas Wildlife Association. Branon Funeral Home WILLIAM FRANKLIN FRANK MARTIN William Franklin Frank Martin, 79, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, March 12, 2002, in San Angelo, Texas. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 15, in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with Brother Roy Ramon, pastor of Beacon Baptist Church, officiating. Frank was born on May 26, 1922, in Cleburne, Texas, to James Luther and Lillie Bell Martin. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters. He was a member of the United States Marine Corps as a corporal from 1941-45, and served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He defended his country in battle at Guadalcanal. After his honorable discharge from the Marine Corps, he served two years with the U.S. Department of the Interiors Alaskan Native Service in Point Barrow, Alaska, situated above the Arctic Circle, teaching the Alaskan community. He embraced and admired the peaceful and loving ways of the Eskimo culture. He graduated in 1951 from the University of Texas in Austin, Texas, with graduate degrees in both pharmacology and liberal arts. Frank worked in the medical profession as a pharmacist for 37 years. He was employed for 25 years at Weeks Drug Store, San Angelo, Texas, owned by Russell Seitz and sons. He often shared very fond memories of his employers and their families. He loved his work as a pharmacist and the people with whom he came in contact. He was affiliated with Alcoholics Anonymous for over 30 years. He was a member of the Sherwood AA and 101 groups and gave unselfishly of himself. Frank loved his AA babies and strived to help many people obtain a better life for themselves. From 1968-1986 he was an active member of the San Angelo Kiwanis Club. He enjoyed working with this organization and expressed to his children his gratitude for the leadership and friendship shared by fellow members. Frank was a loving and devoted husband and father. He was married to Corinna Cody Martin, who preceded him in death in 1993. Survivors include daughters, Melinda Freeman and husband, Jimmy, and Suzanne Bustetter and husband, Mike, all of San Angelo; son, Robert Martin of Round Rock, Texas; and stepson, Paul Smith Jr. and wife, Eugenia Vasilakopoulos, of Grand Prairie, Texas. He also is survived by his grandchildren, Michelle and Michael Bustetter, and Landon and Leah Freeman of San Angelo. She was born Oct. 17, 1918, in Ballinger, Texas, to Melvin and Sadie Russell Evans. She married Alfred Fernandes in Sherman, Texas, on April 4, 1942. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ballinger and taught Sunday school for many years. Active in the community, Bea served on the Carnegie Library Board for five years and volunteered as a part-time librarian for many more. She was a member of the Ballinger Womens Club, volunteered as a Pink Lady at the hospital and served as a Girl Scout leader and Cub Scout leader. Sonny Gann, 77, went to be with the Lord, Thursday evening, March 14, 2002, after a long battle with cancer. He was born Feb. 27, 1925, in Miles, Texas, to Luther and Pearl Ruby Boatright Gann. He married Peggy Gartrell Oct. 23, 1948, in Ballinger. He served in the United States Army Medical Corp during World War II. He lived in Ballinger for over 50 years and was a self-employed welder and backhoe operator. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a grandson, Hayden Camelin. Dunk was born March 8, 1928, in Winters, Texas, to Ronald and Opal Duncan. He graduated from Winters High School and attended Tarleton State University and Texas Tech University. He served in the United State Army for two years in Fort Leonardwood, Mo., and Fort Collins, Colo., from 1950 to 1952 and married Mary Maggie Thomas in Little Rock, Ark., on Sept. 22, 1951. He was a banker, working in Levelland, Post, Beaumont and Plainview before becoming a rancher in Bronte in 1971. Dunk was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church and a member of the Lions Clubs of Post, Beaumont and Plainview. He served on the Farm Bureau Board of Coke/Sterling County and Kickapoo Water Board. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, on Dec. 31, 1997, and his parents, Ronald and Opal Duncan of Lubbock. Service was Thursday, March 14, in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. He was born April 12, 1916, in Stephenville. He was a World War II veteran serving in the Army. Robert worked for Bell Helicopter for 30 years. He was a key member of the technical publications division. Robert retired in 1981. He was a loving husband and grandfather. She continued to be active in the bank as director until her death. She loved art and taught art classes in her studio and home for many years. He attended Tarleton State College and received a bachelors degree in 1936 and a masters degree in 1949 from Texas A&M University. He was a schoolteacher for 43 years, teaching in Neri, Morgan Mill, Pioneer, Doole for six years, Melvin for 31 years, Rochelle for six years and substituted in Lohn and Brady. After retiring from teaching, he owned and operated T. Wood Pest Control for 22 years, retiring again in 1995. He had been a resident of the McCulloch County area since 1936. He was a member of First Baptist Church and sang in the glory and sanctuary choirs. He was song leader and president of his Sunday school class and served as deacon. He was a member of the Brady Lions Club since 1949 and had held offices over the years. He was a member of the Domino Club and sang regularly at local nursing homes for over 20 years. He was named McCulloch County Distinguished Service Award Recipient in 1989 by the Chamber of Commerce. Survivors include son, Gale T. She was a member of the Menard Historical Society and chairman of the Menard Sesquicentennial Ditch Beautification Committee. She was a life member of the PTA and a Girl Scout leader and influential in building the Girl Scout House in Menard. She also helped establish the Menardville Museum at the Frisco and Santa Fe Railroad Depot. Nolan died at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, Texas. Nolan Stewart, the youngest of eight children, was born Dec. 5, 1922, to Robert and Annie Liddie Holden Stewart in Mercury, Texas. Nolan was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Loma Elizabeth Sansom, Eula Louise (Dede) Humphrey and Beulah Marie Miers; four brothers, Damon Joseph Stewart, Newell Cecil Stewart, Robert David Stewart and Vernon Nelson Stewart; a granddaughter, René Ruth Stewart; and a great-grandson, Eli Zane Baldwin. Nolan Ben Stewart and Ruth Evelyn Lewis were married on Sept. 21, 1940, in Rochelle, Texas. During the first 11 years of their marriage, they lived in Brady, where Nolan was employed by Coca-Cola. In 1952, they moved to Sterling City, Texas, where Nolan began a long tenure working on Foster and Hildebrand ranches. During these years, Nolan and Ruth lived on and reared their children at the Hilltop, the Shack and the Santa Fe ranches. In 1977, after working 26 years, Nolan left Foster and Hildebrand ranches to become manager of Reed and Stewart ranches. He enjoyed working with his family for 19 years until his retirement in 1996. Nolan and Ruth were blessed with a loving family who adored Mammaw and Granddad. Nolan was so proud of his close-knit family. When Nolans pew was vacant, everyone knew that he must be sick. Nolan loved working with horses and was a true West Texas cowboy. Some of his happiest days were working horseback on West Texas ranches. In his younger days, he enjoyed training ranch horses. Nolan was also a member of the Sterling City Palmetto Polo Club for several years. Gardening gave Nolan an opportunity to stay close to nature and the outdoors. After he retired from ranching, gardening was his passion. He prided himself on his well-maintained garden. He found much joy in sharing vegetables with his family and friends. Dale worked for the United States Postal Service for 36 years, where he enjoyed each position he held. He retired in 1989. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Bea Jobe. Viola was born in Moulton, Texas, Lavaca County on Nov. 27, 1915. She attended Komensky School and graduated high school in Shiner, Texas. After high school, she took nursing training in Fort Worth and later at Shannon Hospital in San Angelo where she met and married Odis M. Holiman on July 3, 1937. They were blessed with two children, Viola Marie Early of Midland, Texas, and H. Lewis Holiman. She stayed at home and cared for the children during World War II and later attended San Angelo Business College before moving to Midland with her husband. Viola worked for the City of Midland, Superior Oil Company of California and Union Oil Company of California before moving to the ranch. She and her husband acquired two ranches and enjoyed living on the ranch watching the quail and sheep. She loved to cook, garden and care for the yard. She was a wonderful wife, mother and one who loved God. Viola was preceded in death by her son, H. Lewis Holiman.
