Services are pending at Johnson’s Funeral Home. SWEETWATER — Grace Wray Ludlum, 92, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at her residence. Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church. Arrangements are by McCoy Funeral Home. Survivors include her husband, George Ludlum of Sweetwater; son, Don Ludlum of Sweetwater; and daughters, Virginia Taylor of Dale City, Va., and Jean Marie Pfenning of Milwaukie, Ore. BIG SPRING — Dee Arvin “Cocoa” Ratliff, 61, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, in Lubbock. Graveside service will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Trinity Memorial Park Peace Chapel. Arrangements are by Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Survivors include his father, Joe H. Ratliff of Big Spring; brother, Edell Ratliff of Abilene; and sisters, Omega Middleton of Moultrie, Ga., and Blanche Miller of Bradford, Ark. SAN SABA — Raleigh Reese, 79, died Friday, Sept. 27, 2002. Service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Howell-Doran Funeral Chapel with burial in Chappel Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Alice Reese of Bend Community; and sisters, Bess Cardwell of Junction and Vivian Reese of Kaufman. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OBITUARIES JAMES WESLEY WOLFENBARGER Mission Park Funeral Chapels South SAN ANTONIO — James Wesley Wolfenbarger, age 72, passed away Sept. 28, 2002, in San Antonio. He was born Jan. 15, 1930, in Eden, Texas. After marrying his high school sweetheart, Loveta Louise Farrar, he served four years in the United States Navy and was a member of VFW Post 837. He moved to San Antonio in 1954 and worked for City Public Service Board retiring after 35 years with CPSB. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 41 years, Loveta; his mother, Susan Mahaley Wolfenbarger; and his sister, Nan Barthold. He is survived by his sister, Diana Werner; his children, Karie Voigt and Craig Wolfenbarger; four grandchildren, Jennifer Skaggs, Susan Walters, Lisa Wolfenbarger and Callie Jane Wolfenbarger; great-grandson, Jordan Nathaneal Walters; and special friend, Wanda Wiley. Gerhardt, beloved husband and father, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2002, at his home in San Angelo. Service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, in Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. He was born on March 15, 1924, in Rowena, Texas. Harold served in the United States Army in France, Germany and Austria during World War II. He graduated from the University of Texas in 1949. Harold was a kind and gentle man and a great humanitarian. He was happiest when he was helping people. He was a pharmacist for 50 years and a member of the Education Service Center Region XV Board of Directors for 21 years. In 1992, he received an award for outstanding community service. Survivors include his wife, Myrel Gerhardt; two daughters, Kay Jay and Mary Etta Gerhardt of Austin; and one stepdaughter, Marla Burns and husband, Randy, of San Angelo. He is also survived by two brothers, Leonard Gerhardt and Hubert Pokorny of the Houston area. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LILLIAN P WRIGHT Johnson’s Funeral Home Lillian P. Wright, of San Angelo, passed away Friday, Sept. 27, 2002, in Shannon Medical Center. Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Buddy Trull officiating. Lillian was born Dec. 25, 1933, in Francitus to Wesley and Thelma Rose. She married Harold Wright on Aug. 7, 1950. He preceded her death on Sept. 25, 1980. She worked for Barry’s for 19 years and Varsity Janitorial for 11 years. Survivors include five daughters, Evelyn Evans and husband, Johnny, of San Angelo, Marilyn Sims and husband, Doyle, of Carlsbad, Rosie Holdway and husband, Jerry, of San Angelo, Linda Martinez and husband, Dimas, of Tye, and Violet Baker and husband, Jason, of Conroe; 14 grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren; four sisters, Rosie Fuson and husband, Joe, Earlene Foster and husband, James, of West Virginia, Thelma Nalley of Arlington, and Velma Walker of Grape Creek; sister-in-law, Barbara Rose of Grape Creek; brothers-in-law, Brownie Wright of San Angelo and George Zipper of Azle; and numerous nieces and nephews. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
