Lehmann and wife, Susanne Joan Golick, on June 7, 1979. Shortly after his birth, the family moved to San Angelo, Texas. Daniel attended public schools in San Angelo and Mertzon, Texas. He was a 1997 graduate of San Angelo Central High School. Daniel loved the great outdoors, and the highlight of his year was the annual family trip to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. After graduation from high school, he worked briefly as an electrician’s helper in San Angelo on the new Winn Dixie store. Once that job was completed he couldn’t get to Colorado fast enough. He found employment with Avalanche Electric in Silverthorne and obtained his journeyman’s license. Daniel worked in the heart of the Vail/Copper Mountain area and loved his work. Many of the jobs that he worked on were for the newly rich Internet entrepreneurs helping to build their mountain retreats. He was fond of sharing tales of the eccentric things that went into such homes. Daniel’s love of the mountains went hand-in- hand with his love of snowboarding. Wintertime would find him on the slopes at Copper Mountain area resorts whenever there was snow and free time to be filled. His love of life was infectious. Dan was always cutting up and joking, keeping those around him in smiles, always, and often in uncontrollable laughter. Our lives are devastated by his passing, but we have many fond memories of him. Death came to him quietly while he was sleeping on the morning of Nov. 21, 2002. He is survived by his father, Bradley Lehmann and wife, Beth, of Bronte, Texas; mother, Sue Yocom of Anamosa, Iowa; brother, Eric Murtishaw of Anamosa, Iowa.; three sisters, Tara Ward and husband, Brad, of Austin, Texas, Heather Lehmann of Lubbock, Texas, and Stormy White of Bronte, Texas; maternal grandparents, John and Joan Golick of Sterling, Ill.; paternal grandparents, John and Dixie Lehmann of Ferryville, Wis.; niece, Ariel Freitag of Lubbock, Texas; nephew, Phillip Ashton Ward of Austin, Texas; favorite uncle, Dave Lehmann of California; favorite aunt; Mary Mulligan of Iowa; and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.
