Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29, in First Baptist Chapel, with Dr. Kyle Reese officiating. Burial services will be in Savanna Cemetery in Savanna, Okla. JoAnn was born Jan. 15, 1942, to Alvin and Mearl Boyd. She married Roy J. Boggs on Aug. 7, 1970. They have one daughter, Jennifer, and one grandson, Collin. JoAnn was a devout Christian that devoted her life to serving the Lord by serving those around her. She was a member of Business and Professional Women and the Adult 5 Sunday School Class at First Baptist, as well as several Bible studies. She worked for several years as a secretary for the Bluffs South and for San Angelo Independent School District at Bowie Elementary School. She was a woman of great faith and love for her fellow man, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her husband, Roy J. Boggs, and daughter, Jennifer A. Boggs of San Angelo; mother, Mearl Boyd of Houston; sister, Melanie Petersen of Houston; and grandson, J. Collin Rainey of Austin. Mr. Box was born April 3, 1940, in Edgewood, Texas, to Bruce Oran Box and Lavada Hyde Box. He married Gay Ingrum on March 1, 1963, in San Angelo. Bruce was involved in the funeral business during the 1960s, including working for Johnsons Funeral Home for a number of years. He later became co-owner and operator of Regal Oil Company in San Angelo for many years and was a member of St. Paul Presbyterian Church. After retirement, he volunteered a lot of his time to the Shannon Auxiliary. Survivors include his wife, Gay Box of San Angelo; three daughters, Lindsey Sawyer and her husband, Nat, of San Angelo, Lori Box of Austin, and Bobbie Redfearn and her husband, Ken, of Brownsboro; a brother, Kenneth Box and his wife, Elaine, of Edgewood; a brother-in-law, John Ingrum of San Angelo; five grandchildren, Ashley Spoonts, Logan and Landon Sawyer, and Erica and Monica Redfearn; and numerous nieces and nephews. Chester McCown, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. Neoma was born Jan. 27, 1913, in Rowena, Texas, to Anton W. and Leonda Schuhmann Matejowsky. She attended school at Sweethome, graduated as salutatorian from Ballinger High School and attended teachers college in San Marcos. She taught school at Lowake from 1932 to 1933 and was postmaster in Lowake from 1946-55. Neoma was married to Roy Brosig on March 2, 1933, in San Angelo. He preceded her in death on July 17, 1957. Her parents, three brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death. Survivors include her sons, Donald Brosig and wife, Billie, of San Angelo and Mickey Brosig and wife, Barbara, of Mercury; five grandchildren, Michael Brosig and wife, Cindy, of Dallas, David Brosig and wife, Brenda, of San Angelo, Chris Brosig and wife, Wendee, of Lubbock, Matt Brosig and wife, Debra, of Cedar Park and Danny Brosig of San Angelo; six great-grandchildren, Blake, Haley, Logan, Zoe, Breeanne and Brice; numerous nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-law, Flora Brosig and Iola Brosig. He was born June 17, 1933, in San Angelo, the only son of Evelyn Anne Woodward Bryant and Marvin Thomas Bryant. He grew up on the Beck farm during his childhood. He graduated from the old Lake View School in 1950, attended San Angelo College, Sul Ross and graduated in 1955 with a bachelors of science degree in history from Texas Tech. He later graduated with a masters of science in teaching in 1956. Farrell served in the Army Selective Service from 1956-57. He was lucky to have been chosen one of the 15 teachers in the United States to go to Brazil on the Fulbright Scholarship. Farrell began teaching government, world history and economics at Central in 1957, and continued until his retirement in 1991. He married Gretchen Karen Johann in 1965. From this union, three children were born and raised with much love. In 1978, he began his work at Bentwood Country Club until December of 2001. He substitute taught for Christoval Independent School District when he was needed. He served on the committee for the Historic San Angelo Inc. and the San Angelo Old Town Conservancy and enjoyed visiting with his many friends, with whom he had strong relationships. He worked to restore old houses, enjoying the cultural ties between Mexico and the United States. He also enjoyed attending the Angelo Civic Theater, reading, interior design and decorating, and caring for his many flowers and exotic plants. He also taught Russian history, world civilization and US Federal Government as an extension program at Goodfellow Air Force Base. Farrell touched the lives of everyone he came into contact with. He was a kind, loving and generous father who loved his friends and family immensely. He created beauty throughout his home and surroundings. His passions were gardening, yard work, decorating and being with friends and family. He saw beauty in everything and everyone. He was a great father and extraordinary man who will be missed terribly. He is survived by his three children, Courtney Bryant of San Angelo, Christen Miller and her husband, Scott, of Dallas and Matthew Bryant of Dallas; a grandson, Jack Thomas Miller of Dallas; an aunt, Gayle Cunningham of San Angelo; and several cousins. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. The family extends special thanks to the nurses at Shannon Hospital 5 North, VistaCare Hospice, Becky Little, Sammye Stone, Beth Bailey and all of the special friends that helped the family during Farrells final days. Also, the family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at the Cancer Therapy and Research Center in San Antonio. Rusty Frasier officiating. Burial will follow in Belvedere Memorial Park. Mr. Cox was born March 2, 1919, in McCullough County to David and Rosie Cloud Cox. He married Josephine Barto on Nov. 24, 1939, in Sonora. Henry served during World War II in the Army with an Infantry Rifle Squad. He was wounded in the Philippines and received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart Medal. He raised his family in Barnhart where they lived from 1947-69 when they moved to San Angelo. He was employed by the Texas Highway Department from 1950-81 when he retired. Henry was a member of Barnhart School Board, 4-H Lamb Leader, volunteer for Meal on Wheels, member of Order of Purple Heart and a member of Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Cox was preceded in death by three sons, Paul W. Cox, James H. Cox Jr. and James David Cox; a daughter, Sandra Kay Cox; parents, David S. and Rosie Cox; three brothers, Harley Cox, Harvey Cox and Sylvester (Bud) Cox; and three sisters, Leona Wheeler, Thelma Wood and Elizabeth Teters. Everhardt, 50, of San Angelo, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, in a local nursing home with his family at his side after a long battle with cancer. James retired from the United States Air Force as a Technical Sergeant, where he served for 15 years. James received several commendations while in the military which included the Air Force Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, Longevity Service Award Ribbon, the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, as well as being an NCO Military Education Graduate. James greatest passion was serving his country in the Air Force. He was proudest when his youngest son, Aaron, joined the Air Force last year. While stationed at the Philippines, James met and married the love of his life, Elfleda Lim, on Feb. 28, 1976. Throughout his life James stressed the importance of resolving multi-cultural differences, family unity, honesty, integrity and mostly forgiveness. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Dick and Bessie Cunningham; his father, John C. Everhardt; and grandfather, George Bolz. Marys school years were spent in San Angelo with her siblings, Pallas and Robert Wilson Barr. In 1925, Mary married William Frank Currie, a general contractor in San Angelo. They had one child, Gloria Gayle Currie who was born in 1927. Mr. Currie passed in 1930 and in 1940 Mary married Ben F. Harris. Mr. Harris passed in 1993. The family relocated to Notrees, Texas, when Sandra was 12 years old and then moved to Odessa when she was 16. When Sandra was 18 years old, she married Steve Lemuel Holifield in McCamey, Texas. They moved to Crane six months after their marriage, where they lived for 36 years before relocating to Midland. Sandra was preceded in death by her dear son, James Jeffrey Holifield; mother, Valree Orr McCauley; father-in-law, Lemuel Holifield; mother-in-law, Pearl Holifield; and brother, James J. Orr Jr. She leaves behind to mourn her passing her husband of 45 years, Steve Holifield; son, Steve Holifield Jr. and wife, Lisa; and four precious grandchildren, Landry, Lindsay, Laramie and Jake Holifield. Also surviving Sandra are her father, James J. Sandra will be remembered by so many in such special ways and with such fond memories it is impossible to list them all, but her roles as wife, mother and grandmother were always the most dear to her. She and husband, Steve, shared a love and bond for more than 45 years. Her sons, Steve Jr. and Jeff shared a loving and caring relationship with their precious mother that was unique in many ways. To them, Mama was the reason for all the good in their lives. Sandra was lovingly and affectionately called Nana by her four grandchildren who were the lights of her life. Landry Allison was the first grandchild with whom Sandra shared a very special bond and relationship. Lindsay Jo Nell was her second special girl and then came twins Laramie and Jake, who always kept Nana on her toes. One of Sandras priorities in life was making wonderful and lasting memories for her family and those closest to her. Some of her most special times were spent with family and friends at the family ranch in Menard, Texas. All would agree that she was successful in making times spent with her lasting memories. He worked for the Santa Anna Independent School District first as a principal and later as the superintendent for 28 years. He later served on the board of the Region 15 Education Service Center. Cullen was a faithful member of Central United Methodist Church and the Friendly Fellows Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the Santa Anna Masonic Lodge. Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, at First Baptist Church with Ferris Akins and Steve Tompkins officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery of Menard. She was born Nov. 5, 1911, in Leon County, Texas, to July Frida and Fay Pitchford Parker. Myrtle married Barney Wright on March 25, 1941, in Menard. She was a homemaker, a member of the Home Demonstration Club and active with the Girl Scouts. She was also a member of First Baptist Church of Menard. Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Barney Wright; two daughters, Joyce Pritchard and Hyla McNutt; one son, Roy E. Parker; and one brother, Melvin Parker. Survivors include one daughter, Melvena Gerhart and husband, Marvin, of Winters; one son, Jack Wright of Ballinger; one daughter-in-law, Pat Parker of Ballinger; one son-in-law, Dale McNutt of Comanche; one sister, Nerine Zumwalt of Kerrville; 10 grandchildren, Sherri Mikeska, Scott Gerhart, Keith Gerhart, Cindy Ferguson, Terry McNutt, Jason McNutt, Parker Wright, Mike Pritchard, Tim Pritchard and Chad Pritchard; and numerous great-grandchildren.
