Family visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Service will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at St. Paul Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Craig Meyers officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery. The heavens are blessed to receive their newest addition. Pam was a tireless servant to her Lord, a devoted mother, loving wife and a wonderful friend. She loved passionately and cared deeply. Though this beautiful lady left us far too soon, Pam lived life intensely and with no regrets. Her legacy is one of generosity, compassion and a never-ending desire to help those less fortunate. Pam was born on April 20, 1959, in San Angelo, Texas, to Gene and Ann Morrow. She graduated from San Angelo Central High School and attended Texas Tech and Angelo State University, where she was awarded bachelors degrees in political science and history. She married Mark Kanicki on April 2, 1988, and spent the next 12 years traveling with Mark to Greece, Spain, Maryland and Texas during his naval career. On Feb. 20, 1990, while stationed in Athens, Greece, Mark and Pam were blessed with the birth of their precious daughter, Lauren. Pam is survived by Mark and Lauren; as well as by her parents; brother, Bill Morrow and wife, Leslie, of San Angelo and their children, Ali and Jackson. She was preceded in death by grandparents, S.F. and Ida Morrow of Veribest and by M.L. (Bill) and Annetta Hogan of San Angelo. A strong Christian faith sustained Pam through all of lifes challenges. The Lord was indeed her refuge and strength and a well-worn Bible was her how-to manual for living her life. Pam was a longtime member of St. Paul Presbyterian Church and a part of every day was spent in prayer and Bible study. Her devotion to her daughter cannot be adequately described in words. Pams love for Lauren was limitless, and the delight she took in helping her grow was inspiring. What Lauren has achieved and the beautiful young lady she is can be credited to the extraordinary level of care that Pam provided everyday. Pam touched the lives of so many people in so many ways. Deeply loyal to her friends, she was a great listener, confidant and counselor. An unabashed liberal, she spent a significant part of her short life devoted to political and social causes. Pam was a strong advocate for special-needs children. She started the Support Group for Parents of Special Needs Children and worked with the West Texas Parent Education Network. Pam was serving on the Council on Community Race Relations at the time of her death. Pam, thank you for the short time you spent with us: we are all better people for it. We wish that it would never end. You lived a life that truly mattered, and you were so important in so many ways to so many people. Knowing you was like getting to see Halleys Comet a person like you comes around only once in a lifetime. Our pain is Heavens gain. Goodbye, sweet lady. You are missed.
