Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 4, in Belvedere Memorial Park, officiating will be the Rev. Mike Andress with Hospice of San Angelo. Roger was born on Oct. 5, 1946, in San Angelo, to Ernest M. and Diana Shawn. Roger graduated from San Angelo Lake View High School in 1965 and was valedictorian of his graduating class. He attended Angelo State University and graduated in December 1974 with a bachelor's degree, a major in history, a minor in government and with a Cum-Laude Honor. Roger went to the University of Texas and received his master's degree in education. Roger was teaching while he was studying for his degree at the University of Texas at Austin. Roger taught school in the Austin school system and finally at Round Rock. He accomplished what he wanted to do in life. He dedicated much of his life to his own education and the teachings of others, putting aside personal gain and selfish interests. As a young boy, Roger was a very quiet person but was well behaved and disciplined. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lorna Shawn Lawson and his father, Ernest M. Shawn. He is survived by his mother, Diana Shawn and brother, David Shawn, both of San Angelo; and nephew, Jeffery Flippin; grand-nephew, Jeremy Flippin; and grand-niece, Haley Flippin. Robert Massie Funeral Home June 4 GAYE LYNN SMITH LUBBOCK - Service for Gaye Lynn Smith of San Antonio will be at 3 p.m. Friday, June 4, 2004, in W.W. Rix Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Smith and Mark Harp officiating. She died in San Antonio on Tuesday, June 1. She was born in Lubbock on April 16, 1969, to David and Jeanine Smith, attended elementary school in Tahoka, junior high and high school in San Angelo and, following graduation, attended the University of Texas San Antonio where she majored in Broadcasting and Communications. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church there. She enjoyed ballroom dancing and, for a number of years, taught at the Fred Astaire Studios while attending UTSA. Her survivors include her parents; a brother, Mark Smith and wife Trudy of Fort Worth; their son, Matthew; a grandmother, Esta Lee Terry; an aunt, Terressa Smith; an uncle, the Rev. Jerry Smith and wife Jan; beloved family members, Arvetta Hall, Dewey Clark, Debbie Bonet, Buzz Terry, Buddy Terry and wife Gwen, Vickie Conway and husband David; and her beloved Shih-Tzu, Peanut. Vogel, 100, of San Angelo passed away Tuesday June 1, 2004, in a local nursing home. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 4, in Fairmount Cemetery. Frank N. Vogel was born in Algerita, Texas, on May 29, 1904, to Joseph A. Vogel and Alice Belle Roberds Vogel. He was married to Alice L. Horne in Brady, Texas, on Oct. 18, 1929. They moved to San Angelo in 1929, where Frank worked for his brother, Walter Vogel, at Ponton-Vogel Welding Shop. One year later, Frank and another brother, John M. Vogel, purchased the welding business that then became Vogel Welding & Machine Co. at 320 S. Oakes in San Angelo. In 1949, Frank bought John's interest in the business and finally retired himself in 1989 at age 85 after 60 years. Mr. Vogel was a longtime member of the Fife, Texas, Masonic Lodge and the Elks Lodge in San Angelo. Before his marriage, he was a professional baseball pitcher for the San Antonio Club in the old Texas League. His contract with the San Antonio Club was acquired by the Boston Red Sox, but Frank did not get to play in the Major League due to the fact he "threw out his arm" pitching a double-header for San Antonio in his last game with that club. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and four brothers. His wife, Alice Vogel, died in 1994. Mr. Vogel's survivors include his daughter, Bobbie Zane Petersen and her husband, H. Allen, of Lake City, Colo., and Warren, Pa.; a son, Frank Val Vogel of San Angelo; a granddaughter, Sandy Davis McLaurin of San Angelo; and a grandson, Bill V. Davis II and his wife, Rose, of Water Valley, Texas. He is also survived by three great-grandsons, Cole and Taylor McLaurin and Will V. Davis III. Robert Massie Funeral Home HENRY G. SANCHEZ SAN ANGELO - Henry G. Sanchez, 62, of San Angelo, our beloved husband, father, brother and best friend, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 3, 2004. Henry was born on April 15, 1942, in Ozona, Texas, to Enrique Sanchez and Syria Gonzalez. He worked as a cowboy, ranch hand, on oil rigs and as a prison guard. He served in the U.S. Army under his father's old division, the 4th Armored Division, for 12 years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Syria G. Sanchez; daughter, Faith Sanchez; sister, Elva Alborenga; and brother, Walter Higginbotham. He is survived by his wife, Mary Hanz Sanchez; father, Enrique E. Sanchez; mother, Elvira Higginbotham; stepdaughters, Jan and Moreen and their families; six daughters, Monica Gonzalez and husband Hector, Veronica Lara and husband Juan, Vanessa Mancha and husband Martin, Andranee McGuire and husband Alfredo, Amanda Bell and husband James, and Marina Martinez and husband Juan; one son, Enrique D. In March of 1965 she moved from Coleman to Goldthwaite. She was a Methodist and a homemaker. He is also survived by his in-laws, Cmd. Sgt. Bill was devoted to and his world revolved around his wife and children. R.C. was born on May 17, 1912, in Robert Lee, Texas, to James Robert "Bob" and Ninnie Modgling Patterson. He married Mary Catherine Brooks from the Lometa Community of Coke County on June 1, 1940, in Robert Lee. R.C. was a lifelong resident of Robert Lee. He worked most of his life as a farmer and loved to see his crops grow. R.C. plowed and tended gardens for people around town, but spent a couple of years working in and around Robert Lee for the county on the road maintenance crew. He also worked a couple of years at the gas plant at Silver. He loved to be around people, and he liked to play eighty at the recreation center. R.C. was the third in his family of eight children. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, one sister and one nephew. He is survived by his wife, Mary Patterson of Robert Lee; two sisters, Zeda Denman of San Angelo and Nola Harmon of Robert Lee; and is also survived by five nieces and six nephews. She was born in Trickham, Texas, to James E. Martin and Maggie Simpson Martin. Her brother was James Albert Martin who was killed at Pearl Harbor. Her sister, deceased, was Helen Martin Welch. She is survived by three nephews, Bernard Welch, Gary Welch and Larry Welch; one niece, Wilma Welch Carey; one stepdaughter, Heidi White; and one stepson, Robert C. Noble. She owned and operated a medical laboratory and x-ray in Hobbs, N.M., then attended the University of New Mexico to become a dental hygienist. She was married to Robert E. Noble who is deceased. Young, 48, of Roy, Utah, formally of San Angelo, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2004, after suffering a stroke. Dennis was born on April 20, 1956, in Big Spring to parents, L. C. and Minnie Young. She was married in San Angelo on Dec. 28, 1960 to Bobby Wayne Ewell. Donna had many talents including toll paintings, ceramics, cross-stitch, crocheting and knitting; but her favorite was sewing. She worked for GTE until her retirement in March of 1998. Donna is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Wayne Ewell; her parents; and three sisters, Patsy Smith, Carolyn Ree White and Juanell Carroll. She is survived by a daughter, Jean Flanigan Abbott; a grandson; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. June 7 LAURA JANE LOWE SCHMICKLE SAN ANGELO - Laura Jane Lowe Schmickle parted her physical life on Saturday, June 5, 2004, to be with her Lord. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 8, in Fairmount Cemetery. Laura was born April 13, 1914, in Mingus, Texas, to Frank and Bertha Lowe. She lived there with her brothers and sisters and attended elementary school in Caddo, Texas. The family then moved to Texon, Texas where they lived through the depression years. After graduating from Big Lake High School, she moved to San Angelo to help her sister run a boarding house. While there, she met her husband-to-be, Fred Schmickle. They were married on Oct. 5, 1934, in Coleman, Texas. They had been members of First Christian Church in San Angelo since early in their marriage. Fred preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 1972. They had two children, Michael Grant Schmickle, who preceded her in death on May 27, 1990, and Fred Lois Schmickle, Jr. Laura is survived by one son Fred and wife, Marlinda, and their children, Fred III, Bethany and Sky. Other survivors include her daughter-in-law, Judy and children, Michelle Kelso and husband, John, Michael Schmickle, Jr. and wife, Ellen, and Kelly Harris and husband, Steve. Mimi's great-grandchildren are Senjen, Clinton, Rene', Britney, Katy and Steven. Laura worked at Warren Drug for over 30 years. After she retired, she moved to Rio Concho Manor and lived there for 20 years. She moved back home with her son and his family and blessed their lives for three and a half years. Laura was a wonderful mother and person. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. A special thanks to all the Hospice of San Angelo staff who assisted in her last days. She was preceded in death by her father in 1983, and her first husband, Frank Biggs, in 1991. Johnson's Funeral Home SHANKLE "SHANK" SOTHERN BLOXOM RANKIN - Shankle "Shank" Sothern Bloxom, 79, a popular, longtime West Texas sheep rancher, World War II Navy Veteran and member of the Texas Christian University football teams of the late 1940's, died on Saturday, June 5, 2004, in a Midland care center. Graveside service will be held at 9 a.m., Tuesday, June 8, in the Rankin Cemetery with Reverend Stan Whites officiating. Viewing will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, June 7, at the First United Methodist Church in Rankin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bob Johnston, Jim Lucus, Lindy Berry, Tommy Owens, Bud Poage, Billy Ross Wheeler, Charles Wheeler, Roger Baines, David Bloxom, Dana Bloxom, and Scott Bloxom. Shank was born on Nov. 3, 1924, in Houston, Texas, one of four sons to the late Hazel Ella and Samuel Leslie Bloxom. His father was a railroad switchman for the Southern Pacific Railroad at Englewood Yards in Houston. While attending Jefferson Davis High School there, Shank also worked as a switchman during summers. During World War II, Shank was in the U.S. Navy as an aviation machinist mate, repairing aircraft. While at sea, he served aboard the USS West Virginia and an assault transport ship named USS Fair Isle. The vessel delivered Marines for island battles with the Japanese. Shank was honorably discharged Dec. 11, 1945. Shank followed his oldest brother, David, to Texas Christian University on football scholarships after their outstanding performances, as a guard and fullback, respectively, in high school. After WWII, TCU's venerable coach, R.E. "Dutch" Meyers, became their mentor as the brothers continued playing their star positions together on winning Frog teams of the late 1940's, including a trip to the Delta, now Liberty Bowl. Shank graduated from TCU in 1950 with a degree in physical education. In 1950, he married Lottie Jo "Sug" Owens, whom he had met at TCU, and who was one of two daughters of the late Ella and Tom Owens, pioneer West Texas sheep ranchers. In 1955, upon the death of Sug's sister, Margaret, Mr. and Mrs. Owens offered Shank and Sug the opportunity to operate their Upton County Ranch. Shank remained an active member of the Rankin Community supporting many of the local organizations and serving as a board member of the Rankin ISD. Shank was also a member of the First United Methodist Church, and a member of the Texas Sheep & Goat Raisers Association. Shank was an avid TCU supporter, a fan of rodeos and horse racing and a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dave Bloxom of Fort Worth. He is survived by his wife, Lottie Jo "Sug" Bloxom of Rankin; a son, Tom Bloxom and his wife, Lou, of Rankin; a daughter, Deborah Bloxom of Andrews; two brothers, Niles "Pie" Bloxom and his wife, Jean, of Burleson and Russ Bloxom of Arlington; five grandchildren, Sha' Bloxom, Amy Lide, Larissa Lide, Aaron Lide, and Katelyn Lide; and numerous nieces and nephews. MILLER SAN ANGELO - Franklin N. Miller, 73, passed away on June 4, 2004, at San Angelo Community Medical Center. He was born on May 24, 1931, in Baird, Texas, and graduated from Baird High School in 1948. Following service in the U.S. Army, he returned to Texas and was employed by the Welex Division of the Halliburton Company, where he remained for thirty-five years, until his retirement in 1988. He was well known and highly regarded for his log reading skills. His opinions were valued and sought after by some of the most successful oil and gas producers in this area. More recently, Frank's gentle humor and common sense were shared with his friends, both old and new, in his "offices" at Heather's Café and The Donut Shop. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Frenchie Miller; and sister, Dorothy. She left this world from her home, with her husband at her side. She was born Oct. 16, 1939 to Durward and Sue Stutts in Luling, Texas. Raised in Kingsville, Texas, she attended Henrietta King High School and Texas A&M University. She married Thomas Ward on Sept. 3, 1960, in Kingsville. Carolyn worked at Central National Bank in San Angelo for 13 years, including holding the titles of Loan Officer and Supervisor of Secretaries. She was a founding member of the effort to preserve downtown San Angelo, and served as President of both the New Women's Guild and the Newtimer's Club. In addition, along with her husband, she was previously the President of Terpsichorean Club. A life long Baptist, she loved the Lord's music and played the piano and organ during services at the First Baptist Church in Kingsville, during her teenage years. She is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, Tom; her parents, Durward and Sue Stutts of Burnet; her children, Lewis and wife, Paula, of Carrollton, Hugh and wife, Karen, of Dallas, and Sue Ellen Lowe and husband, Malcolm, of St. Petersburg, Fla. Other survivors include her eight grandchildren, Amber Robertson, Calvin Lowe, Meredith Ward, Caryn Ward, Hannah Ward, Tommy Ward, Sarah Lowe and Alicia Lowe; and her brother, Ken Stutts of Pleasanton. During his time in Groesbeck, Kolt developed into a gifted athlete and was an avid sports lover whose time on the field and the court was too short. He enjoyed all of the activities associated with the outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, climb, and camp. He loved his friends and if Kolt called you his friend, you knew you could count on him for anything. But, most of all, Kolt Russell loved his family and his family loved him. Huff Funeral Home LAWRENCE REAGAN "LARRY" WHEAT BIG SPRING - Lawrence Reagan "Larry" Wheat was born on Nov. 16, 1961, in Big Spring, Texas, to Walter Lee and Frances Reagan Wheat. A fourth generation resident of Howard County, he graduated from Big Spring High School where he excelled in band, choir, and drama. He attended Texas Christian University, studying under the world- renowned Lili Kraus, earning a bachelor of piano performance. He then went on to attend the University of Texas and received a master's degree in architecture. Larry resided in Dallas and worked for various architectural firms. At the time of his death he was a self-employed architect. He was a member of the Dallas City Planning Commission and was an advocate for urban renewal within the city. He was chairman of the Zoning Ordinance Advisory Committee and had also previously served on the Dallas Community Development Commission. Larry had an intense passion for the arts and was an accomplished musician as well as an artist. He played a variety of instruments and owned a beautiful singing voice. He was a featured pianist at many national and international festivals. He was greatly loved by children and was especially fond of his younger cousins and niece and nephew. His family knew him as an extremely intelligent and artistic young man. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Walter Lee Wheat and both his grandfathers, James F. Wheat and Horace B. Reagan. She was also an enthusiastic member of the A&M Mothers Club. Charlie and Jimmie Anderson married in 1946 and enjoyed 49 years of marriage before her death. Jimmie and Charlie built a retirement home in Dove Creek in 1976 and became very active members of the Knickerbocker community. Charlie volunteered for the past 15 years for the AARP Tax Assistance Program. He helped restore the Knickerbocker Community Center and has been instrumental in maintaining the historic Knickerbocker Community Cemetery. Their son, Ed Carruth, preceded him in death in 1996. He is survived by his daughter, Karen House, and her husband, Robert House; and grandchildren, Sam and Amanda House. In 1997 Charlie married Wynell Peel and instantly increased his family by adding children, Van and Christine Waddill, Betty and L.D. Simon, Freddy Waddill, and Billy and Linda Waddill. He received the rank of master sergeant. Bill was married to Catherine Aileen Thomas on Aug. 6, 1939. She preceded him in death on Aug. 7, 1983. In July 1984, he married Esther Jordan, and she preceded him in death on Dec. 4, 2002. Bill was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in San Angelo. Bill retired from the Kimbell Grocery Company in Fort Worth with 47 years of service (1930-1977). He took up full-time ranching near Tennyson, Texas, until 1997. Three years later, he moved to Roanoke, Texas, near Fort Worth, to live with his son. Survivors include his children, Jon Drew Hartmann of Roanoke, Texas, William E. Albert was born Nov. 24, 1919, in Thorndale, Texas, to Martin and Ernie Wuensche. He married Irene Kieschnick on Jan. 1, 1941, in Wilson, Texas. He served as a pastor with the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church for 35 years, and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He had been a resident of San Angelo since 1993 and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife, Irene Wuensche of San Angelo; daughter Susan Slay and her husband, Fred, of Menard; sisters, Francis Holden of Colleyville and Leona Wied of Wilson; sisters-in-law, Elwanda Wuensche of Red Oak, Agnes Wuensche of Wilson and Mildred Talkmitt of Slaton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Albert served as a non-commissioned officer aboard the USS Cruiser Springfield in the Asiatic Theater of Operations during World War II. Upon his return from overseas, he sold insurance and cars while operating his farm in Lubbock. He received his theological training at Concordia Seminary in Springfield, Ill., graduating in 1963. He served congregations in South Dakota and in Michigan before returning to Texas to serve churches in Eden, Ballinger, Hamilton, Menard and Kingsville. Walter was born June 10, 1927, in Marietta, Texas, to S.J. and Fannie Templeton. Walter spent 27 years in the U.S. Army, serving in WWII, Korea, and the Vietnam conflict. He was a disabled veteran who received two Presidential Citations, a distinguished service cross and a WWII victory medal. Preceding him in death were his mother and father; brothers Pete Templeton and Vernon Templeton; and sisters Lillie Fisher and Ida Fay Hearne. Surviving him are two daughters, Mary Ann Parker of Ft. Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or a favorite charity. Joe, a lifelong Texan, was born July 27, 1936, in Dallas, Texas, to D.W. and Margaret Sutton Wicker. A resident of Colleyville since 1984, Joe also resided in Denton, San Angelo, Melvin, Lubbock and Hurst. Joe graduated from San Angelo High School in 1954, and received his Engineering Degree from Texas Tech University in 1961. He was a professional engineer who retired from General Motors in 1986 after over 20 years of service. He was also a real estate broker in the Hurst area for many years. Joe met the love of his life, Barbara Henderson, in 1976, and they were married Nov. 6, 1982. They shared many happy times together with their blended families, including annual trips to Port Aransas and visits to see their grandchildren. He loved history, old movies (particularly those starring John Wayne), country music, especially the old original Texas singers, and Jimmy Rodgers. He also loved to deep-sea fish, and one of his greatest joys was showing his children and grandchildren how to "fish" for crabs in the bay. Joe's passion was barbecuing and he and his cooking team, "Who Knows," won numerous awards in area barbecues. His greatest joy in barbecuing was a coveted trip to Meridian, Texas, to the "cook-off of all cook-offs." His cooking was enjoyed by many friends and family members over the years and will be truly missed. Joe was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, dearly loved by many and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by a son, Joe Hart Wicker Jr.; parents D.W. and Margaret Wicker; and brother William Pat Wicker. In 1946, Charlotte graduated from Texas Women's University with a liberal arts degree and worked for the Magnolia Oil Company, which is Exxon-Mobil today. She was an accomplished geological draftsman and created beautiful renditions of maps for the geology department in Dallas until her retirement in 1983. Upon her retirement, Charlotte moved to the Canyon Lake area with her dear friend, Martha Daniel, by whom she is survived. Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home DONNA JOANNE MEYER APPLE VALLEY, Minn. - Donna Joanne Meyer died Thursday, May 20, 2004, in the arms of her five loving children at her daughter's home in Apple Valley, Minn. She was 72. She died of complications during a brief, courageous battle with a rare cancer. Born Aug. 15, 1931, in Chicago, Ill., she was the daughter of Viola and Edward Jacobson but grew up under the loving care of Elmer and Viola Fischer. Donna, a retired professional sales rep, enjoyed life in Chicago, San Clemente, Calif., Denver and Seattle before retiring for the past three years in San Angelo, Texas, where she pursued a psychology degree and donated time to the local prison ministry, Senior Companion program and various other social services. She is survived by a brother, Bruce Fischer of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; a son, Gary Meyer of San Angelo, Texas; four daughters, Sheryl McEwen of Arvada, Colo., Teri Wilson of Lakewood, Colo., Janet Smith of Apple Valley, Minn., and Jackie Meyer of Chicago, Ill.; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Donna will always be remembered for her passion for others to know Christ and the gift of bringing joy and laughter to those around her. Metcalfe, Jr. passed away, Saturday, June 12, 2004, in Midland. He was born Dec. 29, 1927, in Greenville, Miss. to Albert G. and Ruth Metcalfe. Albert's childhood was spent in Greenville, he then moved to Hutchinson, Kan., where he graduated from high school. Albert then attended Texas A&M University, where his graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering in 1949. He met and married Catherine Lehnen, April 7, 1951, in Fort Smith, Ark., while serving in the Army at Fort Chafee, Ark., as a Second Lieutenant. He was a member of the American Association of Petroleum Engineers, Texas A&M 12th Man Foundation, Midland Country Club and Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Albert retired from Tamarack Petroleum in 1992 where he was a Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. The loves of his life were his family, Texas A&M and Mississippi. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed life through his laid-back demeanor. Albert was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Tom Metcalfe. He is survived by his wife, Catherine; his son, Albert G. His loved ones at home surrounded him. Jerry was born Jan. 26, 1936, in Oplin, Texas, to Nathan and Nora Pentecost Slough. He was raised at Eola where he helped his parents with their phone company. He served in the United States Air Force. He retired from GTE in 1993 after 37 years of service. He then worked for Security One until his health began to fail. Jerry married Lolita Hartmann on Sept. 18, 1970. He served the Lord as a deacon for over 20 years. Together they enjoyed mission trips to Mexico and Holland. He was a member of Trinity Fellowship Church in San Angelo. Jerry enjoyed working on the Eola Reunion Committee and co-hosting the annual July 4th Block Party held under his big oak tree. His parents, one brother, a grandson, a daughter-in-law, and a nephew preceded him in death. Johnson's Funeral Home June 15 NORA LUE SPENCER CALDWELL OZONA - Nora Lue Spencer Caldwell passed away in San Angelo, Texas, on June 13, 2004, in her home, after a lengthy illness. The service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, at First Baptist Church in Ozona, Texas. Nora Lue Brown was born in Hamlin, Texas, on July 12, 1919, to Nora Elizabeth Yeary Brown and William Rowe Brown. She married Charles Oliver "C.O." Spencer in Wink, Texas, on Aug. 24, 1936. From this marriage there was born one child, Janice Sue Spencer of San Angelo, Texas. C.O. and Nora Lue established the first oil field service company in Crockett County, C.O. Spencer Welding and Construction, in 1947. With Nora Lue as bookkeeper and business manager, they ran a successful business until 1984. She was an active homemaker and belonged to the First Baptist Church. For many years, her interests included school projects, young people, PTA and Woman's Forum. Nora Lue's hobbies were playing bridge and all kinds of beautiful handwork that her family treasures today. From 1940 until 1984 C.O. and Nora Lue were lifelong friends with Tom and Nettye Caldwell. Both C.O. and Nettye passed away in 1984. In 1986 she married Dr. Thomas Fletcher Caldwell Jr. and moved to Austin. There, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Al-Anon and Austin Federated Woman's Club. In the Austin Federated Woman's Club, she served as President and in Texas Federated Woman's Club she served as District Officer and State Officer. She and Tom were blessed with many friends and thoroughly enjoyed three dance clubs in Austin. Upon his death in 1999, she moved to San Angelo to be near her family. She is survived by her daughter, Janice Spencer Marley; two granddaughters, Jennifer Marley-Knox and Jacinda Marley and Greg Hajer; one great-grandson, James "Spencer" Knox. She is also survived by stepchildren, Tom and Louise Caldwell III, Catherine and Jack "Nibs" Gourley and Sue and Brian Ommanney; five step-grandchildren, Laura Kay and John Guenzi, Janene and Mike Witherite, Brian Gourley, Anne Gourley, Allison Gourley; two step-great-grandchildren, Brayden and Scott Guenzi; many nieces and nephews; a close friend, Louisa Pearson; and three close caregivers, Thelma Huichapa, Chris Ornelas and Sacorra Varela. Preddy Funeral Home JUANITA GLORIA LEDEZMA MARTINEZ BRADY - With our mother Juanita Ledezma Martinez passing to her home in heaven on Thursday, June 10, 2004, in Brady, we would like to thank all who came to visit her during her illness. She loved company, especially from her grandchildren. She was very devoted to our Lord Jesus Christ and the Blessed Mother. Juanita Gloria Ledezma Martinez, age 84, of Brady, Texas, was born March 27, 1920, in Brady to parents, Ysabel Gloria and Manuela Garcia Gloria. She married Lazara "Shorty" Ledezma Sr. on March 11, 1940, in San Marcos, Texas. He preceded her in death. She married Frank H. Martinez on Sept. 25, 1983, in Garland, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She liked quilting, embroidery, angels, flowers, plants and hummingbirds. She lived in Brady most of her life. The rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 13. Service was at 10 a.m. Monday, June 14, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Brady, with the Rev. George officiating, assisted by Deacon Hugo V. Chavez Sr. Pallbearers were grandsons. Leatherwood Memorial Chapels June 16 EDWIN ARTHUR FINCHER SAN ANGELO - Edwin Arthur Fincher, age 48, of San Angelo passed from this life on Sunday, June 13, 2004, at his residence after a short battle with cancer. He was born on April 16, 1956, in Houston, to Huey and Clara Fincher. He married Donna Rogers on March 21, 1975, in San Angelo. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a master plumber.
