Swank, 76, Is Dead Funeral of Aged Man at Grape Creek Friday Afternoon R.E. Swank, 76 years old, ill for the last year from a complication of causes, died at 5 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the home near Carlsbad. The funeral services were conducted there at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon and interment was at the Grape Creek cemetery at 4, the service being conducted by the Reverend Wooster, chaplain at Sanatorium. The Johnson's Funeral Parlor had charge. Mr. Swank had resided in this community since 1911, except for a short time when he went to Kansas. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Tempy Swank, 65, and four daughters. They are: Mrs. Ben Gormley, of Kansas City; Mrs. Addie Nichols, of Los Angeles; Mrs. A.F. Collett, of Carlsbad; and Mrs. C.S. Bewick, of Big Lake. Only Mrs. Collett and Mrs. Bewick of the daughters were at the funeral. Mrs. A.R. Darrow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Collett, came in from Dallas for the funeral. Mr. Collett, at Sweetwater, with his show herd of Jerseys, was called home Thursday night by the death. ===================================================================== ========
