He Was One of the Early Settlers of Texas and Did Much Work on the Rivers. Austin, Texas, October 30. - Colonel C. R. Beaty, aged 74, died this morning at his home on Onion creek after a brief illness. He was an old and prominent citizen of Travis county and was among the oldest of Texas settlers. He did much work years ago, cleaning out Texas rivers, for which he received large land grants. His wife and several children survive him, among them Senator J. T. Beaty of Jasper, who reached the home of his father yesterday, and Mrs. J. J. Faulk, wife of Senator J. J. Faulk, both of whom are here. The funeral will take place tomorrow.
